I think "limited" is actually a fair description for the mainstream appeal of The Wire. Sometimes I think the vocal nature of the show's most zealous fans fools people into thinking there was a bigger audience than there actually was.

If the dvd seasons were selling at a really high rate, the blu-ray set would've already been released by now is my guess. It's all about the numbers.

$40 for the whole set?

...you bastard.

I know I paid at least twice that much.
