Lots of great names associated with this, and the trailer is encouraging. Looks like this thing is going to be a hell of a ride, running through so many stories so quickly. Also looking forward to Crimson Peak. I may see some Halloween movies in the theater this year, wow!

Looks similar to Trick R Treat, I'm intrigued.

Film School Rejects gives it a B-: http://filmschoolrejects.com/reviews...-halloween.php

It sounds good to me. I don't mind at all that the slant is more humorous than horrific.

Here's another one that's barely a review, but does say:

Quote:
these Tales are tempting enough to make this a genre festival draw and a likely download/rental/purchase item for the October holiday season. The level of quality is consistent, though there is eventually a tendency to repetition as most stories focus on horrible people who get just desserts in amusingly horrid ways.
http://www.screendaily.com/reviews/t...091075.article

The Twitch review is pretty positive. The thing I liked most about Trick 'r Treat is how well it captured the feeling and essence of Halloween:

Quote:
Tales is a hellmouth full of talent sure to become a classic played each Halloween by the horror faithful, paired with a gratuitous amount of candy corn and chocolate. I haven't seen a film this devoted to the annual October holiday since Trick R' Treat, and the spooky, sticky sweet candy nostalgia is quite welcome.
http://twitchfilm.com/2015/07/fantas...#ixzz3lFwLMfxX

Another good review at Nerdist, 4 out of 5: http://nerdist.com/review-tales-of-h...-sized-treats/

And at Fangoria: http://www.fangoria.com/new/tales-of...-movie-review/

Flickering Myth calls it an 'almost perfect anthology': http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2015/0...ween-2015.html

I'm very stoked now! I'd kill to get this for my own Halloween movie night this year, but next year it must be.

Seems a little suspect given that it's only a week after the official US theatrical release, but what the hell. Worst they can do is cancel the pre-order.

Yeah, I get what your saying. I should have investigated a little further before posting.

Halloween, one of my favorite times of the year. I can never get enough Halloween themed movies. I'm all in.

will this be an actual movie like Trick r Treat or just individual stories like ABC's?

If like trick r treat, awesome...if like ABCs, i wont get too excited

The stories all take place in the same town, on the same night, and they do interweave to some degree:

"HALLOWEEN offers a variety of visual schemes to keep the stories from running together even as they all take place during the same night, with the supporting characters occasionally crossing over between them."

So I think it'll be like Trick 'r Treat in that way.

Not at all, thanks for the link. I pre-ordered, just like I did with the German Iron Giant pre-order that got pulled. No big deal if they cancel, and if they ship it, cool!

This is the same vibe I'm getting from the movie too which is why I'm excited for this movie (I'm a stickler for Halloween movies anyways). Trick 'r Treat has been one of the movies that I enjoyed the more times I viewed it, so anything more like it is a win in my book. Hell, I'll even take something like Creepshow. But not ABCs of Death, blech...

I saw it in July at the Montreal Fantasia Film Festival.

I found it pretty good. some shorts were pretty lame though but a few were quite good!

And all the stories are not really connected, maybe a few little cameos here and there from previous characters in other stories, but for the most part they're all stand alone that just happen to take place in the same town.

if i would rate it i would give it a 3/5

Imagine a line-up of Roth, Wan, Carpenter, Argento, Craven, Romero etc... I've missed some I know.

I'd be MUCH more excited.

Nonetheless, it will be something I look forward to.
You should check out the Masters of Horror and Fesr Itself series.

Saw it on Vudu tonight. I liked it a lot. The first story was cool w sweet tooth and some of the others were nice. I found a few to be boring. for some reason I really loved the little alien that torments the Jason knockoff in the woods. That whole thing felt very evil dead raimi'ish and just loved how stupid it was. Definitely worth a view for horror fans.

"Btw Billy... is your mother dressing up again this year? Hmmm"

It was good. I enjoyed the majority of the stories. It was more light hearted than I thought it would be but that wasn't a bad thing and it was a lot more bloodier than I expected.
