NOTE: eBay and Amazon listings for the FOX DVD of Totoro are not for the faint of heart
Option B: Check the local libraries in your area. They usually have tons of $$$ OOP releases you can rent legally for free, and are usually in good shape and not too scratched up. In my area, at least 5 have the Fox DVD release and its a children's film, so it should be common for them to carry that release alongside the Disney ones.

I appreciate it, but I've already a copy in very good shape. I just tend to track the prices on OOP DVDs like this and see how its price climbs out of curiosity.

I bought mine online when my VHS tape wore out for 60 bucks last year, and was lamenting how I didn't get it for 15 when it was still in print.
But I should count my blessings, now it's anywhere from 100 to 150 dollars depending on where you look. Amazon.ca has them up to 330 dollars.

So I'll just watch my DVD I have of the Fox version. It's not as good a picture, but the dub is life.
Indeed it is. If Disney were wise, They should have just bought the rights to the "Fox Dub" whether it had expired or not.

The Disney dub didn't pronounce Satsuki's name wrong, there's more than one way to say it depending on whether or not you drop your Us. But if you like the old dub better, have at it.

I managed to find a DVD of Fox dub on FB Marketplace for 20 dollars. This will be my first time watching this version.
