Can you picture an Ad that looks like this: "If you like Piracy then vote for HD-DVD, it will save you thousands over a lifetime"

Someone really should forward that post to the execs at those studios. Maybe Warner will dump HD DVD sooner as a result. (wishful thinking i know)

Are you referring to me or the guy I quoted?
I don't post on that site. I was just curious what they had to say about blu-ray when I stumbled upon that post.

Yes but they could just as easily forward the threads where people here talk about ripping off stores with thier BOGO offers as well. I don't want to be considered as part of a "group" that does that either and if people here say all HD DVD supporters are like this guy we're asking for the same treatment.

ripping off stores, bad. ripping off wal-mart, good.

wal-mart is not a store, they are a price-controlling, mom/pop shop closing, retailing beast that has no regard for the markets it plays in.

that's just my humble opinion.

So when are you going to start strirring up trouble here? You have to know I recognize your name.

Why don't you say some of the same BS here that you said over on the subdemon forum?

That may be, you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't believe sinking to their level and ripping them off is the right thing to do either. Would that really make you feel good about yourself?

I disagree, you don't rip off people you disagree with just because you can. At least I don't. So all the people that hate Sony should go and try to rip them off as well and that's ok to?
If they want to send his comments to Univeral and Paramount they can send many posts from this forum as well to other companies. (sorry to say)

And with that attitude, we will see less and less good deals on Blu-ray discs. Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us.

Well, not to support piracy, but this isn't really going to swing the vote. If (well, when) blu-ray wins, it will be pirated. Everything can be broken, and I believe blu-ray has been. HD-DVD is just easier, so pirates take the path of least resistance.

If you take away HD-DVD, you will still have Blu-ray bootlegs. It is an inevitability, I don't support it, but you'd be foolish to thin that Blu-ray would be "unpirate-able". So the argument is weak. If you really want to play the bootleg card, go for the one that will have the better quality and more variety of studios.

Going completely off the deep end here: Best strategy would be to stop buying HD-DVDs, let Blu-ray win, and instead spend your resources trying to break blu-ray's copy-protection (which is possible, I believe it has been done, just is more difficult). Then, you have one singular format, will likely see more studios and more films, and those that still want bootlegs can have bootlegs. Or you can keep this at a stalemate, where there will be less films to bootleg.

Wow, what an insane case I just made. But if you buy into any of this guy's garbage, then mine makes just as much sense.
