I've never been a huge fan of the original movie, sorry everyone who is it's nothing personal, but I hope I love this. It looks like good sweet fun. Wallis looks awesome in the part. I do love her rendition of Tomorrow. I'm hoping I can maybe catch this on Friday or something in my local Carmike because they hold films a lot longer than some other theaters. I believe they were still playing The Wolverine after it came out on Blu. Wow.

I've heard that one. But I love this new version of Tomorrow. It made the song come alive for me as it never did before. And I also like Sia's You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile. So freaking catchy and dance worthy.

Indeed. I like it, but haven't been able to get anyone under the age of 40 to sit through it. Most older classics are unwatchable to the current generation. Yet the actors back then possessed so much more talent and skills than the actors of today. Sadly, actor talent and skills have been replaced by CGI effects.

No. I like those films, better than today's films in fact, but there is little to no interest in the younger generation for them.

Annie (1982) still holds tremendous appeal because its themes are universal worldwide, the film is very well made and the cast is excellent. The 70s and 80s were the era of great casting.

The butchering of Tomorrow into a cold, auto-tuned synthetic is one of the worst things about this painfully unfaithful "remake."

I love this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I grew up with the 1999 Disney version of it. We got tickets to a screening of this one and it's a lot of fun. I wasn't sure how it'd work in modern times since I did like that it took place in the 30s but it was awesome, I love the songs how they're all updated and what not. I will re-watch this movie a ton.

Annie creator Harold Gray (who died in 1968) would have hated the Broadway play as it flipped his comic strip's politics from anti-Roosevelt (in the comic strip) to pro-Roosevelt (in the Broadway play).

The Broadway musical introduced some wonderful songs, but flipping the creator's politics to promote a political viewpoint he spent his entire life opposing is disgraceful. To say the least.

The 1982 film is more politically neutral with Albert Finney's Oliver Warbucks a likable Republican and Edward Herrmann's Franklin D. Roosevelt a likable Democrat who openly disagree on economics, but the film leaves it up to the viewer to choose sides without shoving an overt political message in your face as the Broadway show does (e.g. Warbucks backing the New Deal at the end of the Broadway play. Get serious. Harold Gray would be furious).

John Huston also omitted the political songs (e.g. "A New Deal for Christmas") that New Deal opponent Harold Gray would have vehemently opposed.

Stephen King hated Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" but that doesn't make it a bad movie. I don't think slavish faithfulness a good movie makes.

I cant help myself drawn to this film, the trailer looks awful as does a majority of the performances.

I get the feeling it's one of those so bad its good type of deals or is it just mediocre and dull attempts at another remake?

I will 100% not be picking this up, but if its on Netflix is it even worth a watch out of curiosity ?

I found it entertainingly awful. If you're looking for a confounding mess, you'll be pretty satisfied.

To those of you who are neither crazy nor a racist :

I just watched the movie this week on blue-ray and all I can say is do your self a favour and watch it! It was on point the whole way through out. No one out shone the other, everyone's acting ability complimented each other. The singing was great, everyone could sing, (I was very surprised upon hearing Cameron Diaz). It was a lovely funny family movie so get ready for nice CLEAN comedy with great acting. You'll be laughing a lot too! I sure did!

I just watched the movie this week on blue-ray and all I can say is do your self a favour and watch it! It was on point the whole way through out. The singing was great, everyone could sing, (I was very surprised upon hearing Cameron Diaz).This is a great movie for people of all ages so get ready for nice CLEAN comedy I laughed a lot myself. Anyone who says different I just can't help you it was very well put together not some thrown together makes no sense movie like Dragonheart 3. Or stripped of the very core parts that would have made the movie great like Exodus: gods and kings.

Heads up: For those of you who have never seen Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston and Yul Brenner, please do so! You'll understand my frustration with Exodus: gods and kings upon watching it.
