Sorry for my imprecise statement, i was refering to the german audio itself (the sound track)..
I'm not shure about which codecs are exactly used for german audio, but it's quity rare you get it as DTS-HD-track.. in complete opposite to the english audio, which is almost always DTS-HD nowadays, that's why i even watch most movies in english.

No, I shouldn't assume we're all English as-a-first-language speakers here, either so definitely no need to apologize. Well, I hope this release accommodates all of us!

My friend has this poster that he got when they had this in the theater. I really like the artwork for it.

I pre-ordered this. I love this movie, in fact is the only one i like from all the saga. The steelbook looks great, i hope there is no back text on it and inner artwork. But i guess is asking too much.

So, it looks like matte finish. Still nice, though and I'm growing tired of the white stretch marks left on the edges of glossy steels (I'll still get glossy steels but it's a pet peeve nonetheless). I also noticed a review for this release on Amazon.De. I did Google translate and it mentioned having lossless audio and that it includes 5 postcards along with some kind of poster. Good stuff, good price. I'm all in on this one.

This is one steelbook that I would get even though I don't like the movie, but I feel I can keep control and form buying it. I understand why people enjoyed this movie, but personally it's one of the most overrated horrors in my opinion. I like the aspect, and the intricate traps, and the twist, and I know the budget was small and they did what they could, but Carey Elwes is good at the other stuff he does, not in this one. He's so bad. Too many face-palm moments for me throughout as well. I actually enjoyed part 2 more, only because of that crazy Puerto Rican guy, he was funny, but I couldn't get excited enough to watch any more of the series, especially when I see those who really enjoyed the first two disliked the rest.

But again, that is a nice looking steelbook

This steelbook is something I actually want to add to my collection, for a couple of reasons: I don't have the movie on Blu-ray (yet) and it's not an umpteenth reissue. Lots of steelbook releases these days are for films that have been re-released countless times, like Fast and the Furious and the Dark Knight series. The design is actually sweet-looking too. All the planets are aligning for this (for me, at least).

According to a review of the disc from Amazon.de and via Google translate, it sports a lossless 7.1 DTS-HD MA soundtrack. It also doesn't have the outdated mpeg-2 codec that the US BD has.

I'd prefer a member here to confirm it. Amazon isn't a very good source IMO.

I might just buy anyway. I own the French and Japanese discs (which are currently considered as the best two versions), so I am curious how this weighs up against them.

surprised it's region free being studio canal, kinda disappointed there is no rear artwork but otherwise I like it... oddly enough I tried to watch my old saw blu last night and my player shows "unknown disc" so I went ahead and ordered the steel lol... $17 and some change shipped is not bad at all

Went ahead and ordered this. I don't own it on blu yet and I like the artwork. Bonus it comes with some art cards. Not bad for $17 shipped to the U.S.
