I'm not overly surprised, New Zealand used to be extraordinarily strict on censorship 20+ years ago. Bruce Willis said "Darn it" in Die hard 2 once haha. we even had the original Mad Max banned from our screens for it's violence. That movie still has an aura for me. well mmm it sounds like this whole concept has had minimal thought with regards selection criteria, So i'll be happy for them to stumble!. .

what is GoT's rating? thats quite flashy.

It'll be interesting to see how distributors react to such a move. Maybe they can fight back by pulling ALL their titles from The Warehouse in response.

That quote alone is enough to laugh at. If it's been rated then it has been deemed acceptable for viewing by the relevant audience. The Classification Board in NZ can (and have as far as I'm aware) refuse classification of a title therefore banning its release. Further censorship by a store is them imposing their view of "acceptable" titles and that's their prerogative, but it's also their way of certainly ensuring shoppers that find their actions UNacceptable will go elsewhere.

You can't say most people find it unacceptable when less that 12 months ago Australia finally got an R rating because of MASSIVE support, not to mention that sales of those titles have been strong. If they're so unacceptable and so unappealing to customers across the pond why the hell are they flying off the shelves? Surely something people find unacceptable would be selling poorly and therefore die off in the long run courtesy of poor sales. Naturally this isn't the case so any reasoning behind the decision is purely the owner's views dictating store policy and not consumers. That's fine - enjoy your reduced sales mate!

Not a big deal for me.

I will still buy blu rays or games from the Warehouse if they are cheaper than at JB Hi Fi or other stores.

Someone should do knock and run in front of the stores and with a flaming bag of dog shit as a protest

same for my region in nelson, they knew in advance the Warehouse was on it's way so they never bothered with competing in that area. Have only ever entered that store 10 times in 18 months and they have been under 6 minutes each time.
