Jurassic World (2015) Blu-ray 3D [Region Free]

seeing the 3D trailer at the Smithsonian's Udvar Hazy new IMAX-laser system this afternoon - the depth and overall 3D effect was unreal! wow!!

The dinosaurs still look real in Jurassic Park 1, so mostly I'm hoping to see a lot of new dinosaurs we haven't seen before, but a lot of meat eaters and velociraptors of course. The new dino sounds cool.

Yes, it was an extended 3D trailer where in the beginning, he's standing among the raptors, training them to obey his command more or less. Then by the end of the trailer, we get that amazing 3D shot of the giant water monster bursting out of the screen more than most theatrical movies attempt these days.

I really really hope this movie gets a 3D Blu Ray release. It would be pretty unheard off if it didn't. Reading the reports here about the trailer it would seem to be a movie you must see and own on 3D Blu Ray. Dinos really coming to life in 3D in this one while 2D it will be completely flat. So i have no intention of wanting this in 2D when the 3D is that awesome.

Is the 3D mostly out or is there equal depth as well. Also are the background frames focused as well or just the critical frames (i.e. can you look around the shot freely without straining your eyes or does it make you focus you on a single object).

I watched JP 3D last night and most of it was strong 3D, but then by the final act with the raptors in the kitchen, etc, the 3D dropped down to medium 3D much of the way as if they ran out of time converting it. Still good, though the overall conversion is strong.

Agree. Someone just mentioned the collector edition had an extra spot for Jurassic World 3D and 2D discs.

The 3D is strong and equal depth I'd say, in the cinemark theater I saw the 2nd trailer in before San Andreas, but you can look wherever you want in the shots and explore the 3D despite the camera telling you what the subject of the shot is. My eyes haven't strained since 2010 when I first got a 3DTV, so I can't say if it'll strain for your eyes or not.

Practice and sitting back will strengthen most eyes to eliminate strain. Kind of like lifting a heavy weight the first day, it hurts afterwards if those muscles were rarely used. Soon enough though, the pain disappears once the eyes strengthen and adjust.

Nice. June 12, 2015. Other than Jurassic World (JW) 3D, no more new mainstream 3D theatrical releases this month. July is back on track with more.
The 2nd 3D trailer definitely got my attention.
If the 3D can match JP's strong 3D, all the better for the new Dinosaur movie.

I'm planning on seeing this next Saturday morning in 3D. What is the word on the street concerning how good a movie or not we are in store for?

I think reviews are embargoed until the 10th -- which is generally never a good sign.

Yeah, I was surprised that RT didn't have any last time I checked. I'm going to see it regardless though.

I can imagine many pro critics will say something like "Did the scientists and businessmen of the Jurassic films not learn from the last 3 movies not to make a theme park centered around Dinosaurs?" Though the whole point of the movie is to imagine what real dinosaurs would be like if we had them in a zoo, and then everything goes wrong. Again.
But that's the fun of it and I'm looking forward to this one quite a bit, along with the 3D.
I see the velociRaptors are friends with their trainer this time, Chris Pratt, so that'll be a cool twist to the series as they hunt for this hybrid monster.

The world premiere was in Paris last week and attendees tweeted that it was very good and the best sequel in the franchise so far. One said the last 20 minutes were "cinematic bliss" so count me excited!
