Pre-ordered. Brilliant film, really took me back to when the genre wasn't all about mass marketing and merchandising opportunities.

a Bit Pricey for me

i will wait until it hits around the £13 mark as its only a limited not 2k.

personally i never usually get anything higher priced than £20 unless it has an incentive to make up for it like 3D or even a lenticular magnet.

Happy Boxing Day to everyone

Happy Boxing day to you Rhino. Hope everyone here had a Merry Christmas as well and got lots of steelbooks.
I went ahead and preordered but I may cancel. I like it but the price is rather high.

Ok well - I'll put a little perspective on this for you....it may seem a little high for most, yet for me it's not too bad (until the price drops -like so many have)

Doing a price conversion - using 20 pound (sorry couldnt find the currency key on my keyboard ) and the current conversion rate (roughly double it for New Zealand dollars) $40NZ is pretty good for a new release - it'll probably hit shelves here for around that price anyway ($35-$40nz) - and thats without it being a steelbook release......that added point of difference makes it just that little bit more worthwhile for me! (although there is a little risk involved too)

Chris

Is Studio Canal typically region-locked?

Thanks.

lol there is no French on the covers. In fact, there's no wording on the artwork at all. The text you see is on removable cardboard flaps.

I mean, errr, FRENCH!? Smurfs!? EWW!

Wish this would be region free. Or we get an identical release in North America. One of the best family films of the past decade, absolutely wonderful.

I would be all over this if it wasn't region-locked. Best movie I've seen in years lol. Oh well, hoping for a cool release in the US.

It seems many studios affected, although it's now two Studio Canal titles as 71 Steelbook is still outstanding and that was due 2 weeks ago.

Glad I pre-ordered the steelbook 3 months before release, was worth it with the speedy delivery from Zavvi...
Every time they take a bit longer to send, but usually I get a dispatch before the Monday of release. The wait on Paddington is already tough. Can distributors stop giving them exclusivity on things, they cock it up with inevitability.
