That's funny... but Brandon was probably the best thing about that Superman movie he was in... him and Kevin Spacey. The rest of it was pretty unmemorable.

It wasn't the actors anyway. It was the awful script and direction.

Attack the Block and Edge of Tomorrow’s Franz Drameh Joins Arrow, The Flash Spin-off

The CW has announced another casting addition to their upcoming “Arrow” and “The Flash” spin-off with Attack the Block and Edge of Tomorrow star Franz Drameh. Drameh joins the cast as a character named “Jay Jackson,” who is officially described as follows:

“Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.”

This sounds suspiciously close to the character Victor Stone aka Cyborg, set to be played by Ray Fisher in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though it remains to be seen if that’s the case. The previously-reported cast listing for the character reveals a little more about the character calling him “a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”

Check back here for more details on Drameh’s role as well as the untitled spin-off series as we learn them!

The upcoming show is also set to feature Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Caity Lotz reprising their roles from “Arrow” and “The Flash” along with newcomers Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter and Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl.

Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter are set to executive produce the series. Although no official timeline has been revealed, the series is expected to target a mid-season premiere in 2016.

Routh certainly didn't ruin Superman, the storyline ruined Superman (Returns)

Absolutely, i thought he was a decent superman and was great in the actions scenes (plane rescue) but it was the plot ruined it because it has been done to death.

If it would have been 30-45 minutes shorter it would have been a great film! I had no problem with the kid. IMO, I thought Cyclops character was what really brought the whole film down!

But it's irrelevant now since Man of Steel is the best and kicks all other Superman film ass.

Also... outside of the weird Superbaby subplot... Superman Returns was largely the same story as Superman back in 1978! They even did some lines verbatim from that script.

Wasn't there already news of a different actor selected to be Cyborg for a movie? Kind of like what they are doing with the Flash.

What really bothers me about how they handle the Atom is he's NOT the atom, he's Iron Man light.

Something about Routh bothers me as well, I cringe when he's on the screen in Arrow. The only things I have ever liked him in were Scott Pilgrim and Zack and Miri.

Sara can come back via the Lazuras Pit obviously, but I'd rather have her as Canary than annoying Laurel.

Actually I like Canary Laurel better than the previous incarnations of Laurel so that's a good. That doesnt mean I didnt like Lotz better as the Canary but at least Laurel isnt as much of a stone around the shows neck.

Rip Hunter is supposed to be on the show... I'm thinking there will be a time-travel element to it. Like maybe this show will be Quantum Leap for heroes... where they go around trying to fix things "that once went wrong"... and maybe they pick up people to participate just before their death... with the eventual plan to return them at some point to their death, but in the meantime they are time-agents or something.

As a premise, that would work for me.

The CW confirmed today the the Flash/Arrow spinoff will be called DC's Legends of Tomorrow and it was picked up to series.

Quote:
"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" focuses on time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter, who has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time. YIKES!

The series stars Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Ciarra Renee, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller. Note that, for whatever reason, the initial logline has the last two "Flash" veterans listed as "with Dominic Purcell... and Wentworth Miller." Dunno if that's contractual or what.

Yeesh that's a bad title.

I wish this was still going to be an Atom focused show with him becoming the REAL Atom.
