I'll buy it even though I have the UK Steelbook. Hopefully they have plans to release Return of Jafar and King of Thieves as well.

Those will probably be a double feature set (which I still will get because those are the only Disney sequels that I enjoy).

If they could put both of those on a separate Blu-ray and include it with the release, that'd be icing on the cake.

I'm hoping that's what they do as well. It would sell best if released alongside the original Aladdin. Glad this is finally coming!

Aladdin is my all time favorite Disney movie…..day 1 is a no-brainer!!

I'll be overjoyed like the Genie's first scene, when this finally hits shelves. Its been my #1 wish for Blu-Ray since I switched formats five years ago.

I'm betting they'll probably have a featurette on Robin Williams, and most of the features from the DVD ported over. I'd really like a commentary track by Scott Weinger and Linda Larkin, though.

I don't know why, but I'm one of those persons who wants their Disney collection to be US only.

So excited for the US release in October! I'm hoping for a Best Buy exclusive!

Day 1. I wonder if there will be anything about it that will make it more valuable than the UK version. I'm assuming some Robin Williams tribute, at least.

For some it'll be Digital HD; Disney doesn't include that in its UK releases, and even if it did it would be hard to redeem here. The U.S. version will obviously come with a DMA redemption; if they continue their current practices (unclear at this time) it'll also have a DC+ redemption (Canada, Amazon, Target Ticket, etc.) Release-week pricing for the BD will likely be around $20, same as digital-only vendors; if your interest is in the DC that basically makes the BD free. (It is for me; that's in part why I'm getting 101 even though I own its UK BD, just like Aladdin.)

The U.S. release is also likely to have 7.1 audio; the UK version is only 5.1.

Hopefully it will have 7.1 sound, all existing DVD extras and some new extras too! And for god's sake: No Virtual Vault or forced sequel inclusion!

i can honestly say i've never thought about a cartoon that way.....but i also stumbled upon treasure trove of old Playboys when i was 12 in my parents' attic.

The only way I'd buy the second one is if they got someone closer to Robin's voice, and re-recorded the Genie's lines. Castellaneta's a good voice actor, but the disparity was very noticeable.
