So if they do a 4k remaster, who else wants to wait for a UHD 4k release on BD100 discs? I will.

Er, a new 2K scan would be a vast improvement over even the "unmolested" caps you just linked to, let alone the actual Blu-ray. Both look old as hell.

Maybe this time around they can manage not to screw up the end credits by squeezing them inward too much, like the 1st BD release... maybe.

Bob Gale said they did a new 2K scan of the interpositives or internegatives, can't remember which one, for the 25th anniversary blu-ray. They look like old DVD era scans to me.

" We at Universal are pleased to announce 4X the DNR and EE on our new 4K scan of a DVD transfer of Back to the Future. Coming in 2015."

It better be a new 4K scan of the trilogy that is coming.

I see that there is a making-of book as well. That sounds excellent. I will certainly have an interest in reading that at some point.

If this hint has anything to do with a potential remake/reboot I will cry and shake my head at Universal. I just want them to re-do the scans for these films and not add any of that annoying DNR/EE.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't sourced from a 4K negative scan. They will have wanted to archive their big titles by now.

Like Jaws and JP, this is gonna be from 4K materials this time.

Still plenty of time to save for that bad boy! My thing is space. No idea where it would go...

I have one that's a similar size displayed on the desk in my office at home. Most people say something the first time that they see it. Mine isn't nearly as detailed though and it's the BTTF 2 version with Mr Fusion. My toddler has been wanting to play with it since he's been able to walk. Very tempted to get this one. I'd probably have to put this new one up high on the shelf so it's out of reach.

I hope we see a new bd edition this year with the video either remastered or no tampering.

If this gets re-released this year, any chances the packaging will be as bad or worse than the last release?
