Fox has great discs, but they don't seem to have mastered the concept of seamless branching yet, unlike Sony and Disney.

To be fair, M&MS is an older disc that was held back. Perhaps the newer releases will feature all kinds of technological tchochkies that we all love so.

I'd like to know as well. I'm gonna drop by Walmart after lunch and pick up POTC3, Superbade, and maybe Cast Away or Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

If Cast Away and Smith PQ/Aq is as good as "Live Free or Die Hard" I'm game.

Has anyone seen this at any major chain? I've been to BB, CC, Target, and Fry's today and didn't see this one at any of them.

I got it today at Fry's for 27.99 (alot more pricey than I thought from Fry's)... I personally really liked the PQ/AQ, sharp colors, very little grain.. but the special features are horrible. One short feature about the scene where Angelina hits Brad with the car and like 4 deleted scenes and the most boring commentaries ever. But it does have D-Box. Doesn't help me any though.

Damn it I hate Los Angeles!!!!! You can never expect to find BD's on their appropriate release dates unless it's a definitive new release like POTC and Superbad.

Haha. Well, I'm in Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Smith wasn't at Wal-mart, Target, or Best Buy (I was trying to find a cheaper price to price match). Fry's had like 5 copies and it wasn't even in the new release section.

I think what's happening with these older titles, like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, is that the stockers don't realize that this is a new release for blu-ray and the cases are probably sitting in back of the store collecting dust.

The sound is amazing! Even if you don't have a DTS-HD decoder, you will still get quite the kick from the gun shots and explosions.

The picture quality is very sharp and colorful.

As for the fact that it's PG-13, I don't really care. I heard they changed some stupid things in the unrated version. Like the shootout at the end is missing the music which I felt was a pretty important song. It tied the movie together in a way.

I have the UNRATED version of M&MS on standard dvd! (Love the movie, and the soundtrack!)

It is missing the music in the shoot-out which I, too, felt was quite important! Added to the "tone" of the whole shoot-out!

It's been a long time since I watched my disc (I keep catching it on HD cable! , so I don't remember what else is different!

So when I bought the BD version today, I was actually looking foward to having the PG-13 theatrical version so that I could own it in the version that I was used to watching! AND with the great music during the final shoot-out!

This is one of those cases, IMO, where the "unrated" version is NOT as good as the "theatrical" one! 'Course, that's just my opinion! I could be wrong! LOL!

I'll take the theatrical release of any movie first. If they can do an unrated, or rated directors cut via seamless branching, then I'm all for it but we should always have the option of getting the theatrical version. So in the case of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, I have no problem with this.

And with LOTR, I want both so I would gladly purchase both versions if they didn't include them in one package.

Never compared the theatrical version and the unrated cut, did notice some more sexy time scenes but that was very minimal...could have been a better cut if they had intended to film the movie as an R rather than PG-13 perhaps.

easily one of the best catalog transfers i've seen on blu yet. right behind pirates of the carribean. the dts ma track is explosive. Just wish Fox would get more titles out now after seeing this masterpiece of a transfer. this fox title is actually worth paying $30 for.

NOT THIS AGAIN. you people are retarded, oh wait you like the unrated version...you people are ****IN retarded. does that make you feel better. (i hope this doesnt get deleted!)

mr. and mrs. smith is one of my favorite movies ever made. i saw the theatrical and bought it. then the unrated came out and i bought that too on a special deal. biggest waste of 15 bucks because it was the exact same thing!!! literally the same thing, no extra swearing, no extra violence, no extra nudity. the same thing, with a couple of deleted scenes thrown into the movie.

Couldn't care less about the PG-13 version. I have both the PG-13 and Unrated version on Dvd and there really isn't any significant difference between them. The Unrated version added nothing of importance

To my eyes, Smith's PQ is not nearly as good as DH4. Disappointingly low bitrate for most of the movie, except for early scenes. Panasonic disappointed me on this one. Maybe this is all there is to get on this movie.

Watching Cast Away, it is obvious that it is not a new movie, but at least with the very high bitrate, I felt I was getting all that there was to get. This is more what I have come to expect from Panasonic.

sometimes the unrated version of the title released is much better, compared to the theatrical release. but i do understand where you are coming from.

Saw it last night and it is a very good catalog transfer. Sound is awesome. Nothing blows you away in terms of video but it's a solid transfer throughout. No banding stuck out and though you do see some noise, it's minimal and not distracting (only if you're looking for it).

A must buy for fans of the movie.

Although it is of course correct to refer to this as a catalog release, it is still a very recent movie, and as such I frankly expected it to look better than it does.

Sounds like Fox has used an old HD master for Smith.
