Amazon has a disclaimer that this won't play on region one players ... Mistake?

Yes, must be a mistake. I'm seeing this disclaimer on a lot of US Blu Ray items today.

Is there a list of how many of these are duplicated on other releases?

The following shorts were previously released on the Golden Collection DVDs:
  • Sniffles Takes a Trip (LTMC version is a newer restoration)
  • The Aristo-cat
  • Mouse Wreckers
  • The Hypo-Chondri-Cat
  • Cheese Chasers
As for Blu-ray, all the main shorts have not been released on any other disc.

Wow, that's actually a good chunk of new stuff. I'll be on the look out for this disc now, thanks!

I'd consider it highly recommended. Subjective quality of the shorts aside, I think the quality of their restorations on this disc is consistently high. (in contrast to some of the more recent classic LT discs)

Amazon is suddenly showing some in stock for 29.98 and it shows sold by Amazon and not a third party. Is it really possible they found some more stock of the Blu-ray version?

So this is just gone forever? Not even a listing on Ebay. Nothing on Amazon. Guess I missed the boat. I guess Warner hates making money.

To be fair it was released over a decade ago and (from what I understand) sold rather poorly. Warner Archive might pick it up.

I didn't realize it came out that long ago. It's hard to believe there aren't even any copies floating around out there.

Used copies show up on eBay from time to time, I haven't found one at a price I'm willing to pay yet.

It would be nice if WAC reissued it.

This isn't the strongest collection of cartoons. When it first came out, I couldn't understand why Jones cartoons with mice were important enough to group together. I still don't understand it. But it's nice that these second tier cartoons got released anyway.

From what I've read, putting out a set including only one director's cartoons and having his name in the title was to test the waters for a Tex Avery set.

Sounds as smart of an idea to me as trying to find out the sales potential of The Wizard of Oz on home video by putting out The Kissing Bandit first.

I guess they figured that CHUCK JONES was a bigger draw than TEX AVERY (they were probably correct). Also, the Tom & Jerry Chuck Jones Collection DVD sold well.

Even though it was ruined with that faux widescreen cropping.
