I'm only on episode 4 right now, and while I really like this season, one thing that is really bothering me is the teenager's dialogue. It's atrocious. Absolutely cringe worthy.

It's like a bunch of rich white people are writing what they assume kids talk like.

"He was clowning me"
"Boys be tussling over me"
"That's cray"

Like, the only times I've ever heard anyone say stuff like that is when they're being ironic. I've never heard people talk like that. I feel like it's a very generalized and stereotyped for urban/inner city/minorities.

I haven't seen season 1, but season 2 has been fantastic!

Southland did the same thing a few years back. When they released the show on DVD, they used the uncensored versions.

I expected the same would be true of American Crime, but they never released Season 1 on DVD or BD. Even the digital platform versions are censored, so I don't know what's up with that.

I loved Season 1. I don't think Season 2 is quite up at that level, but it's damn close. This is easily the best thing on broadcast TV at the moment. Last week's and this week's episodes were devastating.

It's hard to single out any one actor from this cast, but I hope like hell that Lili Taylor gets an Emmy for this.

I really thought this article hits the nail on the head with regards to the latest episode...

The season two finale left me very puzzled. Will this storyline continue or is that it?

I think that's it. It really shouldn't be all that confusing. They didn't show us everything that was going to happen, I think because we don't really need to be shown.

It was an ambiguous ending, but it was very much an ending.

In my theatre days, we called that sort a "wet-fart ending." It's sad that a good show ended in such a tepid fashion....because the writers just didn't know where to go with it.
A disappointment, indeed.
