There are so many OPs and EDs i like, but they're taken down so quickly from Youtube that it's hard to bother look for them there. Vimeo to the rescue!

I will say one of my all time favourites is Kids on The Slope and its intro, Sakamichi no Melody. It is beautiful, GODLIKE!
https://vimeo.com/40669909

All the Fullmetal Alchemist openings are FAN-TASTIC, but this fourth one from the original might just be my favourite!

And of course I gotta mention Gintama!

What the heck are the Youtube embed tags on this forum? I guess I've never needed to know until now.

The only OP you will ever need...

Kajite Knight - Full Song
Because it is radical

EDIT: Okay, yeah linking Youtubes is weird, because you can't see embeded videos when you preview your post

I love, absolutely love the opening and ending themes for Berserk. Some people will find them kinda weird, probably even terrible but something about them just resonates greatly with me.

I don't think I really discriminate between OP, ED, or any other type of songs anime uses; if I like it, then great, it could be at the beginning, middle, or end for all I care.

Some favorites of mine include:

...plus just about everything in The Cowboy Bebop.

I was always a big fan of early 80's New Wave music, like The Fixx, Depeche Mode, Thomas Dolby, Devo, and the like - so one of my all time favorite OP's has got to be Last Exile, of course - so New Wave sounding...

Last Exile:

Wow! Right after watching the Last Exile OP on YT, the OP for .hack//sign started auto-playing, and I now love the music for that one, even though I've never seen the series, lol...

.hack//sign:

Of course, there is always the OP's for Ghost in the Shell and Innocence - especially good when performed live...

Ghost in the Shell and Innocence - Kenji Kawai concert:

And another a great anime soundtrack, Kara no Kyoukai - Garden of Sinners - I especially like the ED for the first movie - also performed live...

Kara no Kyoukai - Garden of Sinners - Kalafina - Oblivion:

OP:

Birdy the Mighty: Decode (Full)

...the whole OST for Birdy the Mighty: Decode is pretty much one of my favorites, well worth the money for both. And why has the show not been released on Blu-ray yet!

Cowboy Bebop

...goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways...one of the best openings ever!

Ergo Proxy

...another one of the great openings.

Gunslinger Girl

... of course the masterpiece that is season 1 only - not sure what season 2 is, but it definitely is not the same show... LOL!

Romeo X Juliet

...absolutely beautiful rendition of "You Raise Me Up" that is perfectly suited to my favorite Romeo and Juliet telling...

Shikabane Hime

...love the opening... show is 'ok'.

Sky Girls

...probably my favorite OP from Mell! Show wasn't too bad either... it's one of GWG's favorites categories too - Moe Mecha!

Tokyo Ghoul - this version specifically:

...have not seen the show, and not really planning to either, but this came up in a Vocaloid search while back and I've been loving it since...
and speaking of Vocaloid covers of OP's, I really like these:

ED:

Attack on Titan (full)

...Speaking of AoT, I'm betting this will be an ED for the second season...at least I really hope so, it's a beautiful piece of music:(2:01-3:30 is my bet for the ED) The OST and singles for Attack on Titan are most excellent as well..

Bubblegum Crisis 2040 (full)

...Love the OST's from BC 2040...

Casshern Sins

...special show, so the special ED of course...

Claymore (full)

...what can I say, Riyu Kosaka is one of my favorite Japanese female singers.

Initial D

Solty Rei

... I cry every time the show comes to this point...

Sousei no Aquarion

...Yoko Kanno was the best thing about the show...LOL!

Viper's Creed

...if only we could get a physical release of this show...

And regarding the poll, there is not set place for the best music. For Burst Angel, the best music is what was made for the DVD menu system.... so yeah.

I'm posting links....this thread is laggy as hell with all of those videos lol.

- Apparently it's the closing for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Never actually seen it but I love Yes. A lot of awesome music references in that show.

Noooooooo how do I just post it as a link?!

Ugh screw it whatever...

Not sure how well it did in Japan but it was kinda a flop in the U.S. sales wise and got relegated to S.A.V.E. status pretty fast. I enjoyed both seasons, though. And wanted a season 3 to tie up the rest of the story.

Okay, I will give you that Il Teatrino is not nearly as good as the first season art-wise. But the ED theme was good. The scripts for some of the episodes ended in a slightly melancholy feeling, and they often faded in the Ending over the last 30 seconds or so instead of cutting over directly. It was sung back and forth by Lia and Aoi Tada, Lia's version being slightly better vocally:

Nice ending actually... when watching the second season I was fast forwarding everything to watch the just the show, one viewing of the not so great opening was more than enough for me and I didn't even bother with the ending. For the 'real' Gunslinger Girl series though I will watch the OP every time...

All the Code Geass OP themes were really decent. But for me the last one (Hitomi no Tsubasa, by Access) was a step up -- THIS IS THE END, it seemed to yell. (course it wasn't, just the end of the first season):

I can't agree with you on the ED themes, though. I find Ali Project to be kinda grating.
