At last! So happy one of my favourite films is finally coming to Blu-ray. I emailed Warner about it last year and they said they had no plans to release it.

I mean who doesn't like Free Willy? I might even buy more than one. This movie will make a great gift for the family. I'm in for a couple at least. Go Willy.

OH man, this is so awesome. The Michael Jackson music video better be an extra. It was on my original VHS and just adds to the nostalgia. I really like the sequel to this as well.

Spectacular news! Definitely one on my list of childhood films yet to come to Blu-ray! Can't wait.
I remember seeing this at the Drive-in with my family as a kid. Made my parents stay for the Michael Jackson song at the end, and I too would love to see the music video as part of the set!

I really hope this is beginning of Disney bringing all the rest of their '80's & '90's films to Blu-ray. I would like the Mighty Ducks collection, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, & Blank Check remastered immediately.

To tell you the truth, the only thing i don't like about the movie is the song stuck to it!
i LOVE the song, but I knew it when Dangerous album was released and i didn't like it that they made it the main song of Free Willy afterwards (since it was an irrelevant song, not composed specifically for the movie)

I thought it was Warner Bros.

By the way, someone mentioned the sequel.
I haven't seen it.
Is it just as good?
Although I bet I won't like it so much, since Free Willy is linked to my childhood/teens when I first saw it at the cinema!

Honestly I'm shocked it has taken this long for it to be released. Anybody remember this being the second biggest thing in the world (after Jurassic Park) in the summer of '93? You'd think WB would've cashed in on the this by now. Now if I can just get Land Before Time and Fievel Goes West to be released.
