The pre order for the German version is up at amazon.de.
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00W7DP9CM

Looks like the German version will have German / English audio, German subs (don't think they are forced), run-time 111 min, region B. The original version has a run-time of 127 min (IMDB). This seems to be a cut for the international market, because the French version also has a run-time of 111 min.

I put this on my list and give a thanx to Taygan315. I never heard of this movie before.

Interesting.

Amazon.de Germany had a La legende de Viy [US Import] DVD (currently not available) with 146 min playing time. Languages on that were Russian DD 5.1 & French DD 5.1.

The back of the DVD cover shows French and English audio with the 1H 47 Min time.

Because I'm a fan of the 1967 original, I've had my eye on this one for a couple of years. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...&highlight=viy

The original is only available on DVD, but if you love fantasy films and practical effects, it's a good time:

The new version has got some CGI-itis, but I will probably get it before say, Thunder and the House of Magic. I love all animation, but I would probably shell out for a Russian Van Helsing cheesefest before I take a chance on CG big-eyed kittens. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably end up with both eventually

Default Can't go wrong with House of Magic

For my money, Thunder/House of Magic is one of the best 3D blu rays that I have. I frequently use it to demonstrate the quality of the 3D on myTVs, especially the scene where the lady (lookie-lou) gets into trouble in the kitchen.
In fact, I just received my second copy from Amazon since the price was very good (around $15) and it gives me the security of a backup in case anything goes wrong with my original copy. You can't go wrong with this one!

I think someone posted some time ago that the director for Thunder/House of Magic is the same person as did the "Sammy's Adventures" 3D movies, which makes sense since those two films also have outstanding effects.

I hear you. I guess my point in bringing it up is to ask the question "Will I own a movie I would otherwise not buy, because of the 3D eye candy factor?" And the answer to that is increasingly "yes."

Viy I would probably get because I enjoy the original and I think the underlying Gogol story is a cool one, whether or not the actual movie is very good.

Thunder and Sammy I've been putting off, but I'm a 3D collector when it comes down to it. This era of home 3D won't last forever, so I know I'll be glad to own the best examples of the 3D effect.

Default I hear you

I hear you.

My fear also is that this might not last, as 3D blur rays available in the USA is diminishing. (That's why I bought a second copy of Thunder/etc.)

I have bought a number from U.K., Germany, France, Italy and Hong Kong, but I don't like doing that.

It's apparent from the "Release Dates" web pages of this forum that only a few 3D blu rays of feature films are scheduled for release before the summer . In the past, there would be at least two or more each month that I would be looking forward to buying.

However, there are more than a dozen 3D movies yet to be released in theaters this year, so I'm just hoping they get blu ray releases.

I posted the link to a pic of the back cover of the French version in my opening post at the beginning of this thread. Sorry it wasn't more visible.

As far as I can tell, Tiberius Films tend to region-lock their stuff. Although I have never seen one of their releases. It's a small label with mostly documentaries and C-grade movies.

Here's their web site (German only).

This is coming out on 3D blu in France (May 15th) and Germany (July 2nd). French version has a listing on Amazon (France) but according to the pics of the back of the box (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...L._SL1500_.jpg) the 2D version has English and French audio, but the 3D has French audio ONLY??!!!?? Looks to be region B locked as well.

German version is not up for pre order yet. Believed to have English and French audio on both versions. Hoping it will be region A or region free. I got to get this flick. Looks great!!!

Here is the French pre order:

Can you please provide a link to the updated picture?

The two available back cover pictures on Amazon.fr still show the Blu-ray 3D format audio only with Françias 5.1.

So these posts have me confused. Does the French version offer the English dub for 3d blu-ray or not?

No it doesn't. The German version does however. You can look at the first post in this thread. I provided a couple of links.

BTW not that i condone this sort of thing but the entire movie is up on youtube. Worth having a quick flick through just for the visuals, i only had a brief look.
