When did Norange ever mention either of those?

Why does everything have to be a gender thing these days even when it isn't?

He was saying that because 14 year olds - implying 14 year old girls because the stars are Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis -are a big part of the fanbase, they're incapable of turning a movie into a cult classic, which is not true.

I would have thought 14 year old boys had an equal chance of liking Mila Kunis.

Maybe, but I haven't seen the opinions of 14 year old boys, just a lot of girls and women's praise of the film, so I really couldn't say.

Nothing with Olivia Munn will ever be a classic.

Movie was ignored cause it was trash. I know Munn is a bad actor, but Depp was just embarassing here.

I'll put it this way, it was so bad that it was good.

I already forgot about this and the trailer had me really wanting to see it. Not every bad movie that has a fan here and there is a cult classic, cult movies have devoted followings that is an entirely different thing than just people liking a movie years latter. I also enjoy Mean Girls and not the devoted cult kind of enjoy and never heard it compared to a cult classic before so that is new to me.

I will still check this out as I find my tastes tend to be in the minority but I do not need others to like the same stuff to reaffirm my tastes or anything if others hate a movie I like or love a movie I hate so what no skin off my back.

How dare you! It's going to be a staple on TBS 3 years from now. Just like when The Tourist was. It was on like 4 times a month for like a year.

Movies become cult either because they're initially unappreciated then re-examined and embraced, or because they're outright awful.

In other words, be careful what you wish for.

I didn't think it was as terrible as many critics said but it was still a loooong way from being good: The action sequences were poorly handled and a lot of the gags felt sexist and old-fashioned.

And the relentless focus on his moustache was pretty bizarre : Facial hair is not that hilarious and yet it seemed like every second gag (no pun intended) was predicated on it. The sheer unfunniness of it did actually become almost funny over time but not in the way they intended.

It was one of those films where I just couldn't quite understand the thought processes behind it. If that sounds like a recommendation: It's not.

I wonder what it would've been like without Depp and Paltrow who I both think are average

Btw I did lol once while watching

And I personally think 50 Shades of Grey is the next Cult movie

I would like to nominate "Kingsman: The Secret Service" to be a cult-classic

The term Cult Classic is so devoid of sense these days

True Cult Classic:

Not likely to become cult classic at all in spite of trying hard:

I'm at that point where I just want Johnny Depp to go away. His "effete fopp" routine drags down every film he's in these days. It seems he has forgotten how to do anything else, he just gives the same performance over and over.
