What sort of transfers should we expect from Mediumrare Entertainment for each film?

Decent transfers, nice PCM 2.0 tracks, (optional DTS-HD-MA 5.1 as well), and booklets for each film.
I briefly owned the US release of the first movie and that had some awful DNR and compression issues. I'm not seeing that at all with MediumRare's disc. It's a single layered disc, while part 2 is dual. Part 2 looks better in general.

I bought the US one looked okay, not great but good enough. Didn't that have a Hal Needham commentary (which doesn't seem to be on the UK one) or am I imagining it?

can you point out specific scenes or time areas that show the UK version of CANNONBALL RUN has better compression than the US one ?

Is the color timing better ?

Are these the same transfer just different encode or a new transfer ?

Also how much space does 1 and 2 take up on the discs ?

The scene in the ambulance at night, where it's raining heavily outside. An artifact ridden mess on the US disc. UK release looks fine.

I don't see it being the same transfer, as the subs for Jackie Chan and his mate aren't burnt into the print, ala the US release. Fortune Star provided both masters.

Also how much space does 1 and 2 take up on the discs ?

Scans are coming, I just have better things to do tonight.

I noticed my US copy says 95 minutes, the UK one says 92 minutes, so if this has 3 minutes of cuts, then yikes

Probably PAL speed-up listed on the UK release as the DVD are included.

Happens all the time on UK releases as those putting the artwork together just use the PAL running time, they can't seem to get their head around the fact that BDs have the same running time as theatrical showings but after 30+ years of PAL speed up on home video releases I guess it's just force of habit.

The 4-5 minutes difference would make that accountable.

I think the BBFC still use PAL timings for home video listings.
