Well, I was unaware that this film was about a gay character. I don't see anything about Gaspard Ulliel's character being gay. Are you saying that just because the director is gay?

And, there are certainly LGBT films with happy endings, but life has its ups and downs whether you are gay or straight. Nobody's life is perfect.

Movies don't have to be comedies to be happy.

Looking forward to this. I've loved each of his films that I've seen: his first four.

I'll be checking it out come February, although I'm not particularly happy this has shuffled the UK release of The Handmadien back to late April.

Great one ! I laughed a lot, it was smart, daring and fresh. I also cared about both Carrey and McGregor, who pulled it off, I believed every second they shared on screen.

Wow that is quite a cast. Admittedly, I have not heard of Nathalie Baye or know who the first guy shown is. I'm guessing he's the director. But sounds like something I would be interested in. My first thought when reading the synopsis was of an older writer. I will never see this movie so it will remain on my wishlist for eternity

I checked this out last night. I'm still unsure of my overall opinion. It was definitely well made and I loved the up close and personal feel of the shots focused on a single person. Followed his normal style overall. As far the plot, I think I'll have to ponder on this one more. It wasn't as "intriguing" as say, Mommy. It's worth a watch if you are already a Dolan fan and/or enjoy seeing Vincent Cassel in anything like me. Standout's are the performances from Vincent Cassel, Léa Seydoux, and Nathalie Baye.

Bottom line (initially): Not as good as Mommy, but worthwhile. I'm just not sure exactly what he was wanting to convey in this film.
