There actually isn't a recap on here. The openings on the syndicated version have the part one and two on a separate card.

Not sure why the HD release chose the two-part version, but as far as I know, nothing is different between the two versions besides the episode one recap.
There are others including The Lord Is My Shepherd that were split into 2 for syndication but the Bluray has presented them as originally aired - which is supposed to be the intention of these releases.

Take a look at the end of Remember Me Part One. Pretty sure it didn't end like that on original broadcast.
There are a handful of instances where things don't seem right including cuts to black then a quick continuation and the music indicates it should be continuous but there are very brief moments missing at those points as if the source materials are damaged.
It's no real big deal but it would be nice to hear some restoration background that might explain some of the discrepancies

All the episodes originally broadcast as two-hour specials air as two one-hour episodes in syndication. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to which ones they leave as two-hours and which ones they split up on Blu-ray. My Blu-rays are boxed up because my house is being worked on so I can't check which ones were split or not, but they did the opposite to Remember Me on Digital HD. It was originally a two part episode that was combined into one episode.

There are some questions it would be nice to get answers to and it is worth pointing out issues, but none are big enough to get me to quit buying or complain too much about these releases. One good thing about these releases is that we get the 90 minute episodes that usually don't air on TV unless INSP or Hallmark is having a Saturday or Sunday Little House marathon. They are listed below:
  • The Hunters
  • The Fighter
  • Be My Friend
  • Godsister
  • Dance With Me

These episodes are not split up on Blu-ray and the runtimes are usually between 72 and 75 minutes.

There are also a couple more rarely aired episodes:

There's No Place Like Home - Part one is 60 minutes and part two is 90 minutes.

Days of Sunshine, Days of Shadow - Part one is 90 minutes and part two is 60 minutes.

The Part II opening has been redone. The lettering is centered different. The title card is off. They should have left it as it was as it is obvious this was textless footage. Who can we contact about a fix since this is not original broadcast version?

It looks like both parts of May We Make Them Proud have new fake credits after the opening titles. Part 1 says Part 1 when it shouldn't as it was a feature.
And the end of Part 1 has a clumsily added To Be Continued caption although it's inserted far better than the end of Remember Me Part 1.

It looks like it took some work to create this fake 2 part version so assuming this was done because there is a problem with the network version why didn't they just edit the 2 parts together?
As it is Part 1 is over 51 minutes and Part 2 is 47 minutes so not even cut in half accurately.

It's for these kinds of changes that it would be nice to get some background from someone who worked on the restoration

Season 7 tentative date?

October 6 2015. Let's hope it's true.

I thought fans might want to know: the latest PR release states that Season Seven is on DVD only, and that the complete series will be released on DVD at the same time. My hunch is this does not augur well for any more Blu-ray releases, but if I receive any follow up info, I'll post it here.

I have yet to find a press release regarding season 7. The above information came from listings for Season Seven and the complete series that were found on Amazon Canada. As of today, Amazon US has links to the Blu-ray and DVD for Season Seven, but not to the complete series. It lists October 6 as the release date.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "above information". I am a Blu-ray reviewer here and get press releases daily--the latest one from Lionsgate which arrived today stated that Season 7 is DVD only and that the complete series will be released on October 6 on DVD as well.

It's unfortunate that Lionsgate is stopping two-thirds into the series especially with UHD BD on Blu-ray's heels.

If the plug is being pulled, it must have been a last-minute decision given Amazon's listing for Season 7. One can only hope the announcement is coming separately from the DVD blast, or else it's over.

If this is true about season 6 being the last season on blu-ray, I'm seriously disappointed. I've been enjoying this series immensely on blu-ray, and it makes me sad that it stops at season 6. I will not enjoy it as much on DVD because the clarity of the blu-rays has been a huge part of my enjoyment thus far. It just won't look as good on DVD.

If this is the case I'll never buy into another tv series from Lionsgate again. This is a pretty lousy thing to do to fans when we've been supporting the series. It's only 3 more seasons. Seriously, Lionsgate - very disappointing if true. I can almost even understand the "new beginning" season being considered dropped, as it's not as popular with fans, but season 7 still has some excellent classic episodes. And what happens with the series finale? So we don't get that movie on blu-ray now?

I also blame Walmart and Target somewhat. I've said it before and I'll say it again - people can't buy what's not available to them. Several times I've looked for seasons of this series in Walmart and they only carry the DVDs, not the blu-rays. How can people buy the blu-rays if stores don't stock them? The average person who doesn't spend every day on a blu-ray site like some of us do will see this series on DVD in Walmart, and figure it hasn't been released on blu-ray since the DVDs are there but the blu-rays aren't. I'm sure this must affect blu-ray sales to some degree. Casual fans may buy the DVD because that's all the store has, whereas if they stocked the blu-ray the fan may have purchased that instead.

Sorry about that. They finally posted the press release where I normally check. I saw last week that the season 7 and complete series DVDs had been listed on Amazon Canada, then I saw today that the Blu-ray was listed on Amazon and Best Buy. I'm not going to panic until I see that the season 7 Blu-ray listings have been removed from Amazon and Best Buy. If they are removed, I'm done with these remastered releases. It's just as ridiculous as Keven Sullivan's high definition versions of the Anne of Green Gables movies that were only released on DVD.

I have noticed that the Little House Blu-rays normally rank higher than the DVDs on the Amazon Best Sellers Rank during the pre-release and new release periods, but then over time the DVDs end up with a higher rank. It would seem to me that the Blu-rays are selling good enough to justify completing the series on Blu-ray.

Well if it's true about no more bds, I can't say I'm surprised, but yeah it is pretty sad. At least we got 6 seasons on bd, which is actually more then I thought would make it out.
It's really hard to get excited about these bd series when this kind of thing happens over and over.
I have no idea why people think the upcoming "super" bd will last more than about 2 days the way things are looking with the major and mid-major studios.

You've got to be kidding me!
Glad then I didn't start buying the series.
I don't like having incomplete series on Bluray.

No DVDs for me. I've been enjoying this amazing series on Blu-ray but I'm not going back to an inferior format for the rest of the series. It was a nice run while it lasted.

The Anne Blu-ray is about 12,000 spots behind the Little House Season Seven Blu-ray that might not be released in the Amazon Best Seller Rankings. It will be interesting to see if Lionsgate does another press release confirming the season seven Blu-ray or if Amazon pulls the listing. I thought Amazon usually had information from the distributor as opposed to using guesswork or making assumptions when creating a listing.

Two weeks after the season six Blu-ray release seems like a very short period of time to suddenly decide they are done with the Blu-ray releases. I hold Vudu HDX in higher regard than DVDs. The only part of that complete series set that I don't already have on either Blu-ray or Vudu HDX is the three movies. If the three movies aren't made available in HD, I will eventually rent or borrow them from somebody. I will not buy SD copies for more than $1 each.
