I was hoping to see a big bold Blu-ray logo in this ad, and yet again it was not there ... well for a split secong it did show up on the little disc, but that was it. Those who are not familiar with the Blu logo, would most likely not notice it at all. So, I am not too excited about this ad in particular.

Excellent commercial. I'd like to see it and the coaster on tv.

I am a huge Blu Ray supporter but I agree it was way to long I was glad they showed it was a Blu Ray player first off, so people will know it will do that.

They should release movie only portion of this commercial to educate the consumers that the PS3 is a movie player.

Something's getting through. Maybe not with this ad. But my comic store guy and his assistant (who strongly lamented my getting a Blu-ray player back in August and actively enlisting in the format wars on the Blu side) are now going to go Blu. Soon.

Comic store guy (an old laserdisc man himself) wants to know as soon as a $298 (or thereabouts) PS3 comes out near or after Christmas--a few freebie disks and/or a gift card tossed in with certainly seal the deal. The assistant, a solid gamer guy, and a formerly exclusive Wii/360 advocate, is also intending to get the PS3 soon!

No matter how much I talked Blu victories and BOGO sales and exclusive titles and the potential of Warner going Blu, the assistant said not a word of complaint, made no mention of any disagreements or counter arguments.

We are winning the war at the basic squad level. Next it will be platoons. Then corps. Finally, whole armies of new recruits will join us. Some will enlist quietly. A few may need permission slips from the folks. Others will join with much fanfare. Either way, we will succeed. Complete victory will be ours.

So say we all.

(Yeah, I've finally been watching Battlestar Galactica--only in SD for now, mind.)

Saw a PS3 ad during Cops last weekend in HD and the Blu ray logo & movies were featured predominately it that commercial.

"BOOM here comes the BOOM" Love that.

You mean the latest Blu-exclusive studio? (Sorry, just had to put that in.)

(I know we're all thinking and hoping for it.)
