Hasn't everyone Force Awakened already and realised Fury Road was garbage?

But Fury Road was better than Force Awakens.

I don't think either was amazing but Fury Road is a lot closer than TFA.

Ehhhhhhhh. VII was a lot fun with all things going for it except for story. It was very entertaining though. Just narratively weak.

MM4 had it together and wasn't afraid of going for it. Disney couldn't afford that at that point.

I know he's not in the best of health, but it would be cool to have Bruce Spence return even for a cameo.
If not, another aerial-bound character would be welcome.

Hope Millennial Max was an anomaly and Gibson returns.

I didn't need the back story on The Toecutter, Wez, Lord Humungus, Auntie Entity, Ironbar or any of a dozen other characters in the saga of Mad Max and certainly don't need one for The Doof Warrior. I've always loved the idea of a character who functions in visual terms and is defined by their current actions. Why does everybody need a f****** back story these days?!?

I would second bringing back some characters from earlier installments, but only if they each get a lengthy montage explaining their back story.😆

It even sets up a moment where you think Max will jump back in and reclaim the Interceptor, and then Furiosa destroys it again. If we're comparing it to, say, Force Awakens (since we're kinda on the topic), think about how that movie treats the Millennium Falcon: it's like it's some sort of hallowed ground. They throw in all these references to the old films and give the big reveal shot lots of extra time so that people can clap in the theater. It's not inherently bad, but it's really fascinating to compare it to how Fury Road treats its respective "iconic vehicle."

You could do an entire analysis comparing Fury Road and Force Awakens, because when you stop and think about it, they have a lot of similar elements (30-years-later sequel to beloved 80s franchise, "defector" character, strong female lead, numerous callbacks to earlier installments) and a lot of differences (one is made by the original creator, one by a fan; the way they treat their callbacks).
Interesting point about the Falcon versus Max's car.
Max definitely didn't waste any time moving on after his car was destroyed, and he responds to it very much like a means to an end, a vehicle that is valuable, but at the same time disposable since in the wasteland, everything can be taken away in a second.

The reason his car is a highlight is because he tends to kick @ss while driving it. Without his car in action, a certain expectation of his character is missing from a fan point of view. Like if Darth Vader didn't have his lightsaber anymore.

Even so, it seems like Miller asked himself, "What's the worst thing that can happen to Max early in the story?" Conflict creates the story.

Anyway, get Gibson back to act and direct. Miller lost the plot. Let the ladies plant their seeds and tend the garden.

Pretty clear from his posts what kind of person Dunemoon is, and it's yet another one to add to my ever growing list of people that make me wonder why I even bother with this forum anymore.
