Yes, absolutely! Most $60 players have so little processing power that they cannot resolve any grain period. The picture looks smooth, like it has been through DNR. And sometimes full of smeary artifacts like a You Tube Video, the water painting effect.

I think you may be confusing players with displays. Most BD players I have tested, even the off brand ones, do a good job with HD feeds. The problem many people have is they have their DNR or mosquito noise reduction turned on.
