No surprise, but the Harryhausen/Landis commentary isn't included. Are his unreleased commentaries available anywhere online for streaming or download? It's such a waste that they were all recorded basically for nothing, as no one will apparently ever hear them.

The same ones on the DVD. I would list them but I don't have it in front of me right now.

Angry I'm not buying the blu-ray (no sepia)

In his autobiography Ray Harryhausen stated that the original prints for The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms were sepia-tinted and the underwater shots in some prints were tinted green. Judging from the screenshots of the blu-ray review the tinting has not been restored. Hence, I see no reason to buy the blu-ray version. My old DVD edition is fine enough.

I'm sure there will be at least a decent bit of picture and sound upgrade over a very nice quality dvd that will make the blu-ray worth getting. Mine will be arriving by the end of the week

As is my usual wont, I'm a little confused here. I picked this up last year in a Collection of Monster Oldies. I think they were all Harryhausen, but I'm not sure. I even sorta remember looking it up for a review here at Blu-Ray.com and now I can't find it.

So, is this a new Master?

I'm pretty sure all four films have brand new scans and will be available for the first time with this collection or individual disc purchase. Check out the screen caps for Beast. They look awesome!

Which title -- "Beast" or "Joe Young"? AFAIK, Warner has not released either on Blu-ray previously.

All four films in the Special Effects Collection received new scans, including these two. "Joe Young", which I am writing up now, had the best source material and looks amazing.

Oops... My bad. Sometimes I can be kinda blonde... This is what happens when I respond from work without being able to check-out my Collection.

I conflated 20 Million Miles to Earth with The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms... It musta been a "20" thing... sigh.

I picked up the Ray Harryhausen Collection last year (really cheap at Costco, I might add) and my Mind's Eye saw the Wrong Movie.

I'll go back to my room now.

Mighty Joe Young Blu-ray review

I took a little time to learn about the source materials for MJY. It was an interesting lesson in the vagaries of film preservation. So much depends on luck (which, in this case, was very good).

Either somebody has not entered the data (in which case you could do it), or t is a bootleg. Apparently there are a lot of bootleg Blu-ray releases in Spain.
