Just ordered the Student Bodies / Jekyll and Hyde...Together Again! double feature from Amazon, where it is still 24.95.

In my own opinion, Jekyll and Hyde begs one to ask the question "Shouldn't Mark Blankenship have gone on to bigger and better things?".

But this is Blu-ray.com...where people would rather pay $20.00 for one movie than be forced to endure the indignity of owning two movies for $10.00 if they have "zero interest" in the second feature.
haha or read through threads about movies they dislike, just to comment that they dislike the film. Why they bother to click on the thread is beyond me. Although, maybe it's something similar to sadomasochism.

Anywho... anyone find the specs for the disc yet? I haven't seen anything mentioned as far as extras. I tried Olive's site and no luck there either.

FWIW, the Legend DVD had only a trailer. No subtitles, but it did have closed captions.

Did anybody check this out and see if the transfer is improved from the previous BD release?

1. Both are sourced from same master.
2. Both are AVC video, but Olive has higher bitrate.
3. Grain slightly better resolved on Olive.
4. Olive a bit darker, Legend a bit washed out.
5. Olive DTS-MA 2.0 mono; Legend DD2.0 mono.

So Olive is a bit better of the two, but given the film might not matter much to most.

I just picked up the other version that comes with the Jekyll and Hide movie. My Student Bodies will not play in my BR player and I noticed it looks different than other BD. It does not have that oily purple look, it has more of a silvery look like CDs. I thought maybe it was burnt but it does not look like a burnt disc ether.

I'd like to know if it's any better transfer and if it's indeed PAL format or region free compatible.

So many labels are dipping into the Paramount well, we need someone to go all out and give us the definitive edition. Dare I say 4K?

Anyone else think the main source of this film’s satire appears to be Prom Night? It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen this, but I remember a lot of scenes and characters resembling that. That film is basically to this what Scream was to Scary Movie.

Other than the high school setting, I don't think there are many similarities. There is no revenge plot over a secret, for example. If anything, Student Bodies, in terms of plot, is kind of close to Final Exam, swapping high school for college. Student Bodies being both a comedy and mostly a dream (as we find out in the climax), kind of muddies the water as far as being inspired by any one slasher film. It's satirizing all of the ones that existed through 1980.

I seem to remember the nerdy janitor being a major character and treated like a red herring, which could’ve easily been taken from Prom Night. That’s the one I remember the most.

I noticed all 3 blu-rays US, UK and German are not in the OAR . Wonder of VS would try a 4K of this and give us the correct AR and some bonus material with a cool slip would be a dream . In Germany you can get the blu-ray with wooden horse head book ends
