I am disappointed the IMAX3D release of Pan is no longer happening.
I was looking forward to seeing it on our screen at the Chinese in IMAXwithLaser3D.

I will be in LA 10/11 and was looking forward to seeing a movie at the Chinese IMAX theatre. On 10/8 THE WALK is playing at the IMAX theatre but nothing comes up after that. I guess they haven't decided yet.

Strange that we still don't know what is playing at the Chinese IMAX theatre for Friday 10/9.

Pan hits theaters Friday in 3D. I'll wait for a 3D verdict before considering it, but do remember the trailer in 3D was high medium 3D.

They finally updated their site - The Walk is playing 10/9 to 10/15. Anyone know where is the best place to sit for their Imax theatre?

I thought the 3D for this was stunning (as well as the 7.1 mix, unfortunately my Arclight theater - which has two Atmos systems, didn't book it in either auditoirums ) my major quip though are the characters which are waifer thin and whenever the action stops to build any depth with dialogue- it comes to a screeching halt. The Baz Luhrmann 'moment' is truly a bizarre 'wtf' moment

it had it's flaws but I enjoyed it - will definitely buy the bluray as Warner's will hopefully replicate the visual/aural insanity.

oh and there's also two scenes that reduce the screen vertically to have items come out of the framing of the image

on a non-technical note, I'm surprised how violent this movie is, granted that's it about pirates it seems like a no-brainer but it's one to note, if parents plan on bringing kids under five. Also when Peter gives the equivalent of the middle finger (the British 'V' fingers) it'll go over the head's of the kid's but I can hear parent's clarifying to inquiring minds: "oh it's just V for victory (not 'f*** you)'

I saw "Pan " today and I enjoyed it very much. The 3D was wonderful, quite a few pop outs. I wasn't expecting much but it was entertaining. I guess that's the key, not having expectations.LOL

Saw this toda and loved it. The 3D was incredible. Can't wait for the blu.

It was weird not seeing a trailer for another WB movie. I guess they don't have anything coming out soon.

This is another fine conversion from Gener8. They also
did excellent work on 300-Rise of an Empire as well as
collaborating on other conversions.
Depth is mostly strong throughout with nice placement
of foreground elements and backgrounds stretching deep
into the screen. 3D fans will enjoy lots of gimmicks during
the movie! Can't wait for this to hit 3D Blu!

This movie bombed so hard that there releasing the bluray only 2 months later. I think Warner brothers thought it would be successful and were surprised that it did so badly. Sure has been a not so great year for Warner brothers first Jupiter ascending than pan whoever is in charge of what movies get made there should be fired.

Im happy that they take risks. Most studios are too afraid to.

Im glad I can watch this over christmas.

there were also 'Entourage' and 'We Are Your Friends' which bombed in the theaters - Warner's took a serious hit this year.

EDIT:
oh and also 'Our Brand is Crisis'

Warners also had some profitable films like American Sniper, Mad Max Fury Road, San Andreas, Get Hard, The Intern, and Focus. But I agree that Pan and Jupiter Ascending were terrible losses.

Get Hard got money? that's news to me... looked like a hideous movie.

I really enjoyed We Are Your Friends, despite not even being into dance music.
