If the local discs don't include Atmos, I'll still purchase the 3D set anyway, and pick up the U.S version in several months once it drops to $12-$15. I don't need Atmos right now, I don't have the equipment for it, and I'd rather be able to watch it next week than have to wait roughly another 2 weeks for it. Not to mention that Amazon.U.S. are sending almost everything I pre-order in jiffy bags these days, and the packaging for titles are regularly arriving damaged.

You might be right, my player might not be registering it so we'll see what the cover says next week, but from the disc itself it doesn't look likely.
Hey dlammin,

Can you provide a BDInfo scan of the disc you have?

Ideally that should be the case. But then FF7 street date is today but it's all over the place since last Tuesday. So is the case with interstellar from same studio.

Will give a ring before anyways.

I've found this to be the case with major releases with my local JB HiFi (Erina).

The big (hugely popular/massively marketed), ie: money making films, tend to sneak onto the shelves in time for the preceding weekend of their official release date.

I'm not sure how to do that, but if it's easy enough, let me know how and I'll give it a go

JB Hi Fi states that the Australian release has an Atmos track.

Are you sure about it? Do you have an Atmos compatible receiver?

If the member has it wrong, perhaps Roadshow shouldn't be sending him review copies

You need a PC Blu-ray Disc drive, the free BDInfo software, and region-bypass software like AnyDVD HD, so it is a bit complex if you've never had to do it before.

If you can't do it, no worries, as there are others in this thread who can.

Hmm... it's entirely possible I'm wrong and it is ATMOS capable. Also (and I should have said this so definitely my bad) the review disc they sent me was for the 2D version, so it's also possible that the 3D disc does have it. As far as I know, my player usually tells me if ATMOS is present, but like I said, I could be wrong.

Hopefully the disc is out on the weekend/early next week and I'm totally wrong and will happily pop a sign around my neck saying 'I'm an idiot', because at least that means we didn't get shafted! I'm sorry if I've caused any confusion. I do seriously hope I am wrong and an idiot

Understandable mate, my player isn't Atmos capable and told me Transformers: Rise of Extinction had Atmos.

does it really matter when it comes out? People whinging and moaning about a materilistic item, it is not up to you to decide when it is released, it is up to the good folk at village roadshow, if they say it is out when we say it is, well not much you can do about it eh? I suppose you are going to wait at the front door first thing monday morning for the doors at your local jbhifi to open and jump on the floorstaff about " is mad max fury road out"? also?
