So if this is a hit, will they add Leo Getz in the 2nd season?

Looking at rush hour I don't think they need to worry a casting agent anytime soon.

That looks like it might be funny, but I still think Wayans was the wrong choice for Murtaugh. He's too self-aware, whereas Danny Glover played it straight. I was really surprised to see Jordana Brewster as the shrink; will she be a regular?

As for Riggs, I think Clayne Crawford's portrayal is a closer match to Mel Gibson. Trailers can be deceiving though, so I'll watch the full pilot before making my conclusion.

I don't think Crawford is acting anything like Riggs...that's part of the trailer's biggest problem. I actually think Wayans is the only good thing in it...and that's stretching the word.

Well, I've never been a huge fan of Wayans to begin with; his style of comedy just isn't something I appreciate very much. I mean, he's laughing in the trailer while talking to the shrink, not seeming stressed or anything. To me, that's a parody of Murtaugh instead of the real deal.

I am sure Fox is already thinking about cancelling it.

The trailer wasn't as cringe-worthy as I feared it might be. I actually thought it looked pretty good. Obviously, Riggs and Murtaugh are iconic action roles that are hard to imagine being played by anyone other than Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. But I think Crawford and Wayans show promise for this new version. I actually think Crawford looked close to capturing the characteristics of Riggs that Gibson gave him. I hope they keep the action level high, too, since it wouldn't be Lethal Weapon without plenty of action.

I'll definitely check it out when it premieres.

Wow... I mean, when they came to the dinner scene with the flashbacks to the wife, I just turned it off. It looks sooooooooo freakin' bad.

I have to say that I liked the trailer I was expecting to hate it but I did not. I will wait to see how it goes.

As soon as they announced this was being developed into a TV series and using the same names as the characters from the movies, it was bound to be one of the most hated TV shows that no one has seen yet.

It all depends on how it's handled. Murtaugh is laughing as he's holding a (almost)dying Riggs in his arms at the end of Legal Wreckin 2, but that's a great scene. One of the best in the series, in fact.

As for this trailer, about the best thing I can say is it looks better than the 4th movie. Otherwise, this looks like a cancellation waiting to happen. And I think having it on Fox is a big mistake. One of my favorite aspects of the movies was how vulgar and violent they were. That's not gonna be allowed on network TV.
