The only cancer is in his wallet, HD-DVD is just eating his money away with what will soon be a worthless player.

They store near me carries 90% Blu Ray and 10% HD DVD. They have said that the red team does not sell, so they only carry a handful of titles.

They've been doing it from the beginnng..they seem to follow MS around .. go figure.

Btw..some old guy that was clueless about consoles ending up getting a 40GB PS3 yesterday.. while the futureshop weenie foamed at the mouth that all blu-rays were only encoded with an inferior mpeg-2 and HD DVD was using the newer and better mpeg-4 encoding for the 360 add-on..while I pointed it was more VC-1, bitrates, etec...he also said AVC didn't exist - it was a company name and had nothing to do with encoding. He also tried to muddy the water around HD Audio and the add-on etc..

It was so nice to walk over - grab some disks and prove to the old guy the employee was lying to him..everything I had been saying prior was believed and the weenie lost all credibility.

Funny how facts always get in the way of these rabid liars...and they invariably turn out to be pro-MS. Go figure.

There's some confusion over the laser -- MANY HD-DVD supporters think HD-DVD uses the older DVD red laser, but like BD it uses a blue laser. This FUD, as stupid as it is, is countered with pointing out that if blue lasers cause cancer, then guess what, you've got it too.

I swear a cashier at FYE told me this. I said to him, I guess you have hd-dvd. He said yes. I said good for you and went to leave. I can't debate with some one who comes up with this. It isn't intelligent. He wanted to keep debating and I said it is like the PS3 and Xbox debate. There isn't one. I have a system that will last and won't RROD. He called it a paper weight without games. Went through the great current games out and all I got was HALO 3. Told him while it might be good it is OVERRATED. I more less left and told him at least I didn't waste my money. BTW No blue copys of HP Box set. They either sold out or didn't order.
Well considering that he says such stupid things and considering that he has an hd-dvd player, it is almost safe to assume that hd-dvd causes brain cells degeneration. Well what else can explain that ?

I'm no specialist but blue laser or red laser or any other laser is in fact just a beam of light that has its photons sent in the same direction whereas an electric bulb sends the photons in all directions. So if nobody has died of exposure to an electric bulb, I don't see how any one could get anything from a laser that on top of this, is inside the machine so you don't even see it.

The only damage a laser can cause is eye damage if you look at it for too long, which you can't unless you break open your player

Yeah I think you should report him. He went too far using cancer as an argument... If we let anyone get away with things like this (not just when it comes to Blu-ray either but things in general), they will keep doing it. How many people is he still feeding this line to, especially those who don't know enough about high-def...?
