Yes, telling a giant story, Infinity Gauntlet, over the course of nearly 20 films isn't ambitious at all.

C'mon, man. One of the lamest things anyone can do on here is look at someone's collection, find a movie in it they don't like, and then use that as part of their argument.

It's like Blu-ray.com's version of Godwin's Law.

How about we cancel this idea and put the millions of dollars into a Dredd cinematic universe instead?

I was the same but the latest one has improved things for me. Quite enjoying it so far.

Default 'Call Of Duty' Film

CBM

Quote:

The long-rumored Call of Duty adaptation might be finally heading into production, as it is expected to begin shooting next Spring under the direction of Stefano Sollima. The Italian moviemaker and screenwriter is best known for his work on the popular Sky Atlantic crime series Gomorra and made his English language film debut with this year's action crime thriller Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

The Discussing Film crew recently had a chance to sit down and talk with screenwriter Kieran Fitzgerald (Snowden, Wormwood), who is penning Call of Duty's script. According to Fitzgerald, first casting meetings have already taken place and the movie's producers are currently in the process of picking up the casting members. The writer also revealed that the film is expected to begin shooting next Spring.

During the interview, Fitzgerald confirmed that Call of Duty is eyeing a 2020 or 2021 launch window. Activision Blizzard Studios’ presidents Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk are set to produce the movie along with Activision Blizzard chief executive Bobby Kotick. Stefano Sollima's adaptation doesn't have a distributor yet, as the Call of Duty video game series has sold over 250 million copies worldwide.

I loved the Ghost Recon mini-movie they did on BluRay. Outstanding. Wanted a two hour film of that puppy.

How about no...

I mean seriously, no single player in BLOPS IV and now this? I mean just let the franchise go on a break for like 2 years. They are going to kill it like Guitar Hero.

Black Ops 4 is really good, and the reception seems really high for it. I don't see a burnout to the level of Guitar Hero ever happening to COD.

Based on principle, will not support this. If they made a Battlefied movie, that I would go to. The BFV campaign shits on everything COD has done in the last 10 years.

The ONLY way I see this is if after the credits roll, there's a 2 hour Call of Duty Zombies film afterward.

I think this could be work if they adapt the Modern Warfare trilogy's story-line. That or do zombies. Like Overlord, but hoards of them, not just one.

I've never played the game, what makes it unique? Is there a hero character vs an archenemy? Will the film be like any other war film if they put any title on it?

Every game is different, some are WW2, some are modern day, some are set in Space, and some in the future.

Modern Warfare, the first game in a trilogy, and the generally most well-liked game/story involves 6 main protagonists.

There's basically a civil war between the government and ultra-nationalists composed of former Soviet soliders trying to return Russia to its Soviet Union days.

In the 2nd game, the ultra-nationalists take control and attempt to invade the US.

The 3rd game concludes the story, and in it, the ultra-nationalists capture the Russian President to stop his peace treaty with the US, and try to use nukes to conquer Europe.

There's more or less 1 main villain leading the ultra-nationalist terrorists throughout, and several main American protagonists.

That's why I skipped BO4, no SP meant no buy from me since that's all I play.
