Once I realized this was just going to be a clip show I turned it off. Such a disappointment.

Bon Qui Qui winning was purposely done as a joke. Ms. Swan or Stuart would have won if they were truly doing a poll, but the joke was no one would have expected Bon Qui Qui to win or even be nominated.

The special was disappointing because they didn't show complete sketches. Some new ones would have been cool too. But in fairness it would be hard to put 20 years in a one hour with commercials show.

I do think they should bring MADtv back. The CW brought Whose Line Is It Anyway back and it seems to be doing well enough. Why not put it on the CW on Saturday?

It truly was a waste of time. If they had sticked to some original content (in this case , original skits) it would've made the reunion a whole lot interesting and entertaining.

I was a big MADtv fan back in the good old days. Never missing their Saturday broadcasts. I got a little nostalgic with last nights broadcast but in all honestly it was horrendously done.

Good points.
And yes, I'd like to see MadTV return with the original cast members if they're willing. At the very least, bring back the reruns and show them Saturday night or weekdays or something.

I didn't expect anything new... I expected a clip show... but I also expected to hear the cast sitting and talking to each other about the show. What we got was a bunch of partial skits, no complete ones at all, and not even all the good ones that I remember... and very little of real talk from the cast members.

It was disappointing all around, and the cast members deserved a lot better for a reunion show than they got.

While I agree fans wanted to see the cast in modern skits, it's still nice the show was acknowledged at all these years later, and will hopefully return in the future in some form.

I appreciated the special for what it was, but I agree that the cast and fans deserved far better than a "greatest hits" (which is what a small majority of season 13 and 14 were). In a perfect world, The CW would pick this up at least as a limited series. SNL just doesn't match the immature and politically incorrect humor that MADtv did so, so well.

"MADtv" is Getting a Revival on The CW
by Liam Mathews
Apr 11, 2016

"MADtv", the late-night sketch comedy series that ran for 14 seasons from 1995 to 2009 on Fox, will be making a somewhat unexpected comeback on The CW, the network announced Monday.

"MADtv" will return for eight new one-hour prime-time episodes. A premiere date and cast will be announced at a later date. The cast will consist of fresh-faced new comedians, with original cast members returning to host.

The CW aired a 20th anniversary reunion special in January.

Wow, did not see this coming at all. The last season deserved an early mercy kill; If they get some good writers though, it could become a hit.

I hope this means that they will release seasons 5-8 on DVD now since those were some of the strongest seasons

When MadTv was really rolling it had some of the best sketches around and it didn't kowtow to the PC crowd.

Will Sasso and Aries Spears were always great in the same sketch. Remember the Snicker's commercial parody making fun of profiling? Anything Kenny Rogers was gold (especially Kenny taking the dairy challenge or attempting to catch a baseball with his teeth).

Hopefully it's as good as it was when the show was in its prime. Which it probably won't. Too many PC writers out there now, I'm not expecting this to be very good honestly.

Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso and Bobby Lee Appearing on "MADtv" CW Revival
by Andy Swift
July 12, 2016

"MADtv" is bringing out the big guns to help usher in its new era on The CW. Nicole Sullivan, who starred on the original "MADtv" from 1995 to 2001, and Will Sasso (1997–2002) will guest-star in the new series’ premiere on July 26 (9/8c), TVLine has learned exclusively.

Bobby Lee (2001–2009) is also confirmed to appear in an upcoming episode.

Will Sasso was one of my favorite comedians on Mad TV with his Steven Segal and De Niro impressions, Nicole was great too. Michael McDonald, he was a classic character also, but he won't be there I guess. Mo Collins neither. A lot of other good characters over the years.

Looking forward to see what the new cast will offer. I hope we get some hilarious skits and characters as in the later seasons of Mad TV. The show got better as it aged IMO.

So July 26th, 2016, premiere show of Mad TV on the WB CW, 9 PM Eastern/ 6 PM Pacific time in the US.

Mad TV last week was a mostly entertaining start to the brand new cast, but mostly because Will Sasso was the guest star with Nicole Sullivan.

I hope they bring back Mo Collins for a show if possible too, and other classic cast members. For the new cast, I have to watch it this Tuesday to get a better idea, but each show is 1 hour so far.

Mad TV new season on Tuesdays, 8/9 PM depending, July 26th was the first show, 2016.

Did you get a chance to see it? Some funny stuff, but mostly thanks to the classic stars appearing and taking the spotlight. Some new cast members are funny though, and have potential.

I noticed tonight Madtv is a repeat of episode 1 already. Not sure what that is about since the series just started. I was waiting for the newest episode since we're only about 4 weeks into the series. I missed last week's show.

I went to high school with Michelle Ortiz, and actually carpooled with her every morning to school for a couple years. Cool chick. She's the only reason I'll keep watching this.

Cool Kaiju. Have you been able to congratulate her about it through email?
She is comical on the show so far with some good character parts. I hope the show gets a second season, but we'll see how it goes.

Yeah! Very proud of her. I may be biased, but I think she's the funniest of the new cast. Hoping this leads to great things for her.
