If anyone sees a 3D trailer for this, please let me know. I think the release date for this is my actual birthday.

I think we might see a trailer in 3D before Cap Civil War 3D and most likely Jungle Book 3D.
July 1st, 2016 US

Tarzan 3D hits theaters this Friday, July 1, 2016, vs Big Friendly Giant 3D.

You lucky bastards, here in the UK we have to wait until next weekend before we get to see it. After Gods of Egypt this was my no. 2 most anticipated of the year. I literally cannot wait to watch it.

It's actually rare we luck out with a movie before the UK and other countries. Maybe it would've been better for Tarzan to wait next week so it's not in competition with BFG 3D. Then again, here's what July 2016 looks like unless things have changed:

JULY
Big Friendly Giant 3D
Legend Tarzan 3D
Secret Life of Pets 3D
Ghostbusters 3D
Ice Age 4: Collision Course 3D
Star Trek Beyond 3D

Plus Independence Day 3D from June, among others.

Just saw this in Imax 3D and was fairly unimpressed. Mainly the movie was mild with a few moments of medium and just a few moments of strong. The strong moments were mainly aerial scenic shots. The medium was more so ground related when they weren't in the rain, fog or at night. The scene where the
[Show spoiler]paddle boat explodes could have used more to it with all that debris flying all over the place
.

All in all it was like watching a 2D movie with bits of 3D thrown in there. Aside from that, the movie was great. Def worth seeing even if you only see it in 2D.

I was hoping the 3D would be worth it as I was really looking forward to this movie. Now it looks like I won't be getting the 3D Blu when it comes out.

They only had 2 3D trailers, Star Wars Rogue One and Suicide Squad.

They even showed the music video by Rhianna from the New Star Trek movie soundtrack before the movie.

If they can't make a 3D movie to look like a 3D movie, why in the heck do they even bother? It pi**es me off!

Saw this in lieMAX 3D last night (had free tickets). I think the 3D effects would have been more impressive in a true IMAX 3D. I'd say it was mostly medium 3D, quite a few strong 3D moments and a handful of mild 3D moments (mostly dialogue scenes indoors). The movie was a fun adventure, very good action beats although the story was a little underdeveloped. 7.5/10 for the movie, 6/10 for the 3D.

The Legend of Tarzan

Domestic Total as of Jul. 3, 2016: $38,135,000 (Estimate)
Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: July 1, 2016
Genre: Action / Adventure Runtime: 1 hrs. 49 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 Production Budget: $180 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $38,135,000 67.0%
+ Foreign: $18,800,000 33.0%
= Worldwide: $56,935,000
Hard to believe this cost $180 million, but thankfully not as much as John Carter's $250 million to make. This definitely did much better in theaters than BFG on opening week.

Will be seeing this at the weekend. Very excited. Shame they didn't push the 3D as much as possible but do they ever these days?

This actually had a decent opening weekend, considering how poor everyone was predicting it to do. I mean the budget was huge so that doesn't help but it certainly seemed to exceed financial expectations.

I agree that $40 million during a crowded summer weekend is not bad, but it all depends on the budget.

As far as pushing the 3D, definitely check out TMNT Out of the Shadows and Warcraft 3D from summer 2016. Both with plenty of strong 3D.

Yep Turtles 2 extremely strong 3D. Great to hear about Warcraft 3D looking forward to the 3D Blu-Ray then. Also think BvS, Apocalypse was very good 3D while CW disappointed

You will definitely enjoy the strong 3D in Warcraft 3D! I really hope there's a sequel with the same 3D teams.

From those I know who saw Tarzan, they enjoyed it for the most part, though they only saw the 2D show. I haven't seen this yet.

I saw it yesterday. I liked the film and the 3-D was medium for the most part. I felt it could have done better with a stronger 3-D presentation, especially during the action scenes where Tarzan swings on the vines. It's still worth seeing in 3-D.
