Downton Abbey isn't a BBC show: it's made for ITV by Carnival Films, who are owned by NBC.

I loved it, but there you go.

Has anyone noticed what it says on the cover about the audio?

5.1, or 7.1 through Dolby Atmos.

I hope that's not a sign of things to come - no 7.1 without Atmos.

Good special, it had its up and downs but for me its one of the weakest in the history of the show, however the show is still one of the best things on television and towers over most shows currently airing on UK television (whenever its on).

Looking forward to season 4.

I enjoyed it a lot up until
[Show spoiler]the unveiling of the suffragette murderesses. That was quite a let down, IMO. The time traveling stuff in Sherlock's head didn't bother me as much as that did.

Maybe we'll get a "it never happened" when the next installments starts back up.

Does this come with a digital copy? If so is it iTunes or UV?

One of my friends saw it in theater and said it was absolutely fantastic. I didn't not realize this came out to BD already. That is fast, way too fast.

The PBS showing was advertising the DVD and BD at the end of the program, so that's probably why.

Its not a film though just a TV special and often they are out a few days after airing, once received a boxset of a tv show before the series finale had actually aired lol

It did air. It was broadcast on primetime BBC1 on New Years Day.

I'm sure everyone's aware since it's showing up top, but this is down to $11.99 on Amazon right now.

I haven't seen this yet, so I think I'll jump on it for this price.

If you mean why isn't a BBC show airing on BBC America is because as far as the BBC's charter is concerned BBC America is a separate entity (it receives none of the funds the UK public pays to the BBC).

BBC America must purchase its BBC programming at the same rates any other network would pay and as programming such as ST:TNG re-runs and assorted movies shown throughout the week get a lot of run time -- they're cheaper to pick up.
