On her majesty's secret service steelbook was also release in Canada, UK, Germany and Japan, how exclusive is that?
This thread is pointless.
Obvious the OP is talking about US releases. And you need to lighten up.

I considered the Disney steelbooks to be future shop's exclusive until bestbuy release the same exact ones in the US. I think it's ridiculous the way stores use something very mainstream worldwide and call it exclusive just because they're the are alone to have the right to sell them in a Country, we're not in the 20th century anymore we can order anything from anywhere in the world now. The only difference between the Jaws digibook and 007 steelbook mentioned by the OP are the back paper and UPC. It's not like they had special features like Transformers 2 Walmart USA Exclusive, the big screen (IMAX) edition that I HAD to order in the US to get, THAT was exclusive.

Jaws - digibook
The Amazing Spiderman 2 3D - magno case
Zero Dark Thirty - steelbook

Btw, I wouldn't mind seeing a thread like this expanded to other store exclusives, as my favorite would have to be Walmart's Interstellar neo pack.

But those things make a difference when it comes to the joy of collecting Digibooks. Or when trying to catalogue them...

I did acknowledge that the two Jaws Digibooks are the same content-wise. I was just pointing out that both are two "releases".

It was a Best Buy Exclusive in the US as stated, but you're right, it was not Exclusive to the entire planet. It may not be the 20th Century anymore but "most" people still do not import for various reasons. A few listed below ....

Issues with returning a defective product
Those really swell ratings logos
Movie OK, but PAL Special Features
Region Coding
May just not be comfortable doing so

So for "most" people living in the United States it was a Best Buy Exclusive until it went to wide release. Personally I have no issue importing which is pretty obvious from my collection. So need to convince me of its virtues.

I don't get your statement at all, especially since the Jaws digibook weren't exclusive to bestbuy even within the US. So I assume you have both and probably won't open them to make sure you can see the "difference".

I did that with my steelbook collection (keep them sealed) and I'm glad I did because now I'm parting with most of them and it's way esier to sell, but I'm also selling a few digibooks and those are harder to sell opened (like new) or sealed...

Well I don't have a problem ordering from anywhere in the World either, when a movie is release somewhere before we got it, if I want it, I don't wait for the domestic release. Region coding should be a problem since we can get a region free blu-ray player for dirt cheap nowadays. Beside the HUGE German rating logos I don't really mind them and if I do I just print another cover for a very specific blu-ray but most of the time it's just because I think a custom one look much better, or because the title is in a foreign language.

Those Game of Thrones look nice, I have 4 different versions of the second season from Future Shop, house stark, lannister, Greyjoy & targaryen (DVD).
