I still can't figure out if they hooked up or not in Skyfall.

Yea Waltz is great, it's why he has 2 Academy Awards. I also wish he had been given a better script to work with.

Cuaron would make the most boring Bond movie. Him and Lubezki would more or less be "leave the camera running towards shots of nothing while all of the interesting things are never shown".

If the choice of cinematographer is so important, just let the director bring in their own guy (like with Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall). Hoyte von Hoytema did very well on Spectre so he'd be just fine. If he passes, then I'd like to see Mihai Malaimare (The Master, A Walk Among the Tombstones, the forthcoming Delirium), Maryse Alberti (The Wrestler, Creed), or Luca Bigazzi (The Great Beauty, Youth) considered.

My big "no" on cinematography would Jeff Cronenweth. Everything would be too static and impossible to see (he underlights everything).

Then how about Dariusz Wolski? Surely Ridley Scott could let him go and shoot a Bond flick for someone else.

I like Wolski as a choice. He may be too big of a name with The Martian but I thought The Walk was very beautifully shot (also perhaps the best 3-D post-conversion on a film).

Speaking of 3-D, I wonder how a shot on 3-D (or a really good post-conversion) Bond film would look.

You know what? I just want another fun Bond film. Spectre finally brought Bond back to the classic formula and I'm hoping that trend will continue. That's all I'm asking for at this point.

They need Roger Deakins back ideally. Say what you will about Skyfall but the cinematography was unimpeachable.

I'd be happy with Nolan/Pfister though..

I would not mind him taking on Bond his The Man from Uncle film was far more enjoyable then Spectre was.

I don't think they work together anymore. Poor Wally hasn't been doing too well since he dissed The Avengers. Lol.

Craig's dull ass doesn't deserve this milestone film.

I want a new Bond and no more serialized stories.

Nolan produced Transcendence, they still work together.

Didn't Guy Ritchie do Layer Cake with Craig though?

So they have a history of doing stuff that involves certain parts of what goes in in Bond and we know due to Sherlock he can pull off action.

Personally, I think whoever is right for the job regardless of geo location should get the roles or directorial gigs. Keeping it British is a bit of a dated concept but then again, I'm a stickler for the idea Bond remain White and presented as a British agent even if played by a non-British.

I enjoyed Spectre, but unlike most people I wasn't too fond of Skyfall. Casino Royale was excellent and I thought QOS is underrated. That being said, I never considered Daniel Craig as Bond and considering his comments about slashing his wrists, I'd say it's time for a new Bond.

Maybe Craig doing this new TV series is a sign?

If Daniel Craig isn't coming back I'd love to see Michael Fassbender as Bond.

Jason Isaacs would be perfect for the role if he was 10 years younger.

Anyone actually read the link I posted above?

They may well delay the next Bond movie until Craig has time and is ready to commit. The studio don't want to lose him at all so they are gonna alter their plans. Everyone seems to be bending over backwards for Craig, just for one movie, he can literately ask for anything he wants, he'd be a fool not to do it.
