Kimchi's FB page now has a gif of the lenti.

Just noticed the steelbook spine doesn't even say The Martian and kimchi's post mentions a sticker being included. Is this common?

Not sure I like the idea of having to replicate the exact perfect spot and executing my own perfect landing with a sticker on a steelbook spine.

Of course when you have a slip over you're steel, with the name on the front and spine, it doesn't seem like it would matter much.

I think this is the kind you peel one side, then stick on, then peel off the second clear film. Like a Auto Decal. It might work.. I think they just gained my $40.99

Other forum members have made their own Custom spine stickers for releases like Hunger Games MJ 1, After Earth, White House Down that didn't have spine titles and they looked pretty good. Just depends on the quality of the sticker

Even though FA's version has more extras, I like this version the best, plus, I love the fact that they are including the spine sticker. It shows they know their audience and are appealing to them.

Or at least, the "crazy ones" of the group.

Having attached a spine sticker to my HG: MJ1, I can attest to the feeling one gets of wanting to get it on there perfect, it can be a bit nerve raking. Patience is obviously vital but once completed, one can't help but feel great satisfaction.

I look forward to that challenge but not the one of the early alarm.

My money is going to this KimchiDVD version with Lenticular for several reasons. Kimchi's slips are almost always top game. Plus Kimchi is making a strong attempt in doing their best to right a wrong... the titleless spine issue that nobody is happy about. Also, between Kimchi and HDZeta (not big on the FA slips so I will not be comparing that here), I like that Kimchi's slip will not be cluttered with a bunch of Foreign text, including the spine of the slip, which HDZ's will no doubt. The price will also be more appealing, fitdee smackers to my door in the USA vs probably 55 or 60 for HDZ.

imo, Kimchi wins this round.

It' always hard to tell. Since so many companies are putting out releases for The Martian (FA, Kimchi, HDZeta, the plain WWA releases), not everyone will necessarily be going after this release. Could be 5 minutes, could be hours or even days. Just never know. If it's something that you want, I definitely would not risk it and be there at the live time.

If I remember correctly, Its not 'yours' until its paid for. Just having it in your cart isn't good enough. Gotta have that credit card out and ready to go.
