Oh, I hear ya.

The thing with OLLA though is that like most Jarmusch movies, it's always right on the edge of going from clever and stylish to a little too cute and a little too hip and a little too self-aware for its own good and Hurt almost pushed it over that line.

Watch them once just for the sake of having watched everything Hitchcock's filmed, then skip them on further viewing. That's what I do. I don't know one person who things the film is better for that appaling scene. The debate is only on just how bad it is, how much it lowers the movie's overall quality, or does it ruin the movie altogether.

Also good to see you back.

While We're Young being a typical recent example. F**k that ending.

Jurassic World being another recent example. F**k that.

Jurassic Park being a classic example. F**k that.

Terry wanting a vasectomy on (the otherwise extremely funny) Brooklyn Nine-Nine and other people prying into hi business, and him later realizing it was a bad idea after hijinks. F**k that.

I don't think that Godfather III is as bad as everyone says. That being said, Sofia Coppola was not very good in it, so I always wonder what the movie would have been like if Winona Ryder hadn't dropped out.

I thought Pacino was a bigger problem than Sofia. She's not great but she's fine. Pacino on the other hand I could never for one moment buy as Michael Corleone, and it's not even because Al's appearance and voice changed so much in the 16 years since Godfather II. The writing was off, his performance was off, everything was off. I still think the good outweighs the bad but the flick has certainly got issues.

Carol.

An almost perfect production ruined by Rooney Mara's passivity (which people have mistaken for subtlety) and appalling line delivery.

See the scene at the motel where she says "Carol, you're scaring me." for the single worst line reading of 2015. Her Oscar clip was quite bad as well, displaying her laughable attempts at emoting.

I have no doubt that this movie would've made my top 5 of 2015 if Mia Wasikowska hadn't dropped out to do Crimson Peak.

Oh yes. Also Vader's characterization. From credible threat to goofy dad.

I recently rewatched this, and was struck that the scene in Toy Story 2 where Zerg is Buzz's dad and they play catch isn't really a parody of Star Wars at all, it kind of just copies scenes from Return of the Jedi.

I guess it's really just a pretty bad movie on the whole and the Ewoks are far from the only problem.

Another thing I hate is undue focus on relationships, especially odd couple relationships that are shoehorned in for reason.

I mean, honestly. Sure, it's good I guess to have balance between someone a little more orderly and someone a little more free-spirited. But a pair being a rigid OCD type and a freewheeling partyer or (worse yet) a messy slob is a recipe for instant divorce, not an endearing and cutesy couple who bickers in a cutesy little fashion.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also an example of this, the Jake/Amy relationship is obscenely stupid and the third season is a monstrous step down from the first for it.

Yeah, but the uncomfortable laughter throughout the full theater made it so much better.

The fact that Rooney Mara continues to get work AMAZES the $#!t out of me. She hasn't cut her teeth on anything, and just gets prime roles like they are falling from the sky. If she is representative of young Hollywood, than we are in trouble. Her acts of entitlement are hilarious...

Any movie that has Will Smiths son Jaden in it, absolute worst child actor in history.

A couple years ago I resolved to never again watch a movie if Jaden Smith is in it.

Anybody who can keep Keanu from being the worst part of a movie has got some serious mojo problems

Speaking of which, add Dracula to my list.

Quentin Tarantino suddenly appearing in his own films always makes them have that GRAUNCH sound when you accidentally go into the wrong gear.

Yup. I understand why it was done, but it completely deflated the whole thing IMO.

I wouldn't exactly call it a good film per say but it's still decent except for the huge blunder I'm about to talk about: Doom.

The film makers got the atmosphere right, they got the look of the creatures right and the human characters are alright but there's one thing that majorly ruins the film for me:

What the creatures are. They're supposed to be demons but instead they're just mutated humans.

I was going along fine with the film until that came up and I was like "excusez-moi".

Zoe Bell's acting, and the fact that Tarantino allows it to happen. I really liked The Hateful Eight, but her performance was just awful, on the level of a school pantomime performance - but worse because it's in a multi-million dollar production, directed by a man known for bringing out great performances in actors. Also, as bad as I thought Death Proof was, I think it could have been improved at least slightly by casting someone other than her (amazingly playing herself - how can you be that unconvincing as YOURSELF?!). I know Tarantino himself isn't a great actor, and he was God awful in Django, but I thought he was at least OK in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.
