I just looked that up and it sounds like a television cartoon equivalent of the Mario & Sonic Olympic series. Who thought it was a good idea to do it as a cartoon series and not a game?

I don't have a problem with this since animation allows them to embrace their origins. In this way it's really no different than Fox with Ice Age or Disney/Pixar with Cars.
