lol oh Lord please don't say that. That is the last thing I need is for them to announce all of them. I think the lowest they got was $12.99 wasn't it?
But they are soo ugly. I mean Star Trek deserves better then this. |

I might just take a page from Spock's playbook: The needs of the many(great cover art and cool spine art) outweigh the needs of the few(tacky border). ![]() Edit: AmazonIT does remove VAT. So these would be €143.90 + €10.00(shipping) = €153.90 Which would be about $177 or $17.70 per....see, I'm convincing myself! ![]() Last edited by rickah88; 05-05-2016 at 03:47 AM. |

I guess it's because they already have steelbooks. Star Trek II has a steelbook but none of the others have. They look nice but I will pass. I have bought the films enough times.

I don't think the new release of Khan has been confirmed for anywhere outside the US so these could all be the 2009 discs which for the most part are disappointing.

There's a series of new Star Trek films steelbooks to be released in Italy, all with the original poster artwork.
But what cought my attention was that the artwork for The Motion Picture is stated as "The Director's Edition", which I think can't be right. Here is the artwork and the amazon Italy link to order it. http://www.amazon.it/Star-Trek-Pictu...ords=star+trek ![]() |

WHHHAAAAAAAAATTTT?!! Sadly, I'm very skeptical of this, based on past articles I've read that the extended elements are standard def. If it really is a blu-ray like the link claims, it's gotta be some upverted version of the DVD release, and I can't imagine it'd really be worth the double-dip for me.

Yes, I think the same as you, it's tood good to be true.
What I don't understand is why Paramount doesn't re-render all the newly added FX in HD or even 4K (for a temptative UHD BD release) knowing there's demand for this version of the movie. |

I mentioned it in the other thread, but the runtime is listed as 132 minutes which is the theatrical cut, the Director's Edition is 4 minutes longer at 136.

I'm thinking those gold borders pretty much have to be some kind of special front-card, maybe with a hole cut in it...
I mean, it seems by now that SteelBook designers seem to largely understand why we buy steels and know that kind of eye sore is not what we want to see. I'm afraid I'm all in, either way, because one of the biggest injustices of our time is that it has taken until now for this to happen. |
