He was great with his little sister in that one scene though. Hopefully he doesn't cause too much shit, because his parents have enough shit on their plates from now on. But it's a drama series made for ABC, so that will never happen...

I really liked the show, but had one problem with it. Was the terror threat over when they moved into the White House? It looks like to me the new President and his family would stay in the Bunker until they were sure the threat was over. Wasn't the FBI still digging through the rubble at that time?

You would think so. You would also think if they let his wife in the secure location with him his kids would be too.

Strong start to probably my most anticipated show of the year (75% due to President Jack Bauer, 25% due to the premise).

I don't see how it will be made into a running series though. Seems like it would make for a much better one-and-done situation. We'll see though.

I'm digging this show so far. Like several others, I tuned only mainly because of Sutherland.

I'm interested to see where the story goes.

I also get a little chuckle from time to time seeing Kiefer trying to play the "weakling" in one scene to doing the Jack Bauer stare in the next. I don't think Kirkland would have that intense stare in his arsenal. But whatever.

Any chance there's a scenario where Kirkland's daughter runs away and ends up in the hills of washington () and finds herself being chased by a mountain lion??

Then Kirkland finds out and says DAMN IT!

Not much activity here in this thread I see. I have to say that as we come up on the "mid-finale season" I am loving this show and am hooked to my television each week to see what happens next. It's not 24 addicting of course, but still engaging.

Not sure if I prefer this or Timeless as my favorite new show of the year though.

Not bad, love Kiefer and he was great. But just used to seeing him with a bit more action.

I loved it. I didn't expect any action. The character was very well done. He seems to really be written as the underdog and I'm hoping it's because he's going to turn into action president-man. It would be a shame to waste Kiefer's energy on a seemly meek character without any payoff.

Best part of the show was Kal Penn telling him to resign lol, Pilot did a great job of setting up 4 storylines moving forward that can all be very interesting.

Going to be hard not seeing Kiefer play a badass. Tom Kirkman definitely won't have the same intensity as Jack Bauer.

Promising start, although I laughed seeing the evil general wanting to start a coup against Kirkman after him being the President for what 30 minutes? LOL

I hope they go more into the conspiracy angle on who committed the bombing.

I have loved Keifer since Lost Boys and Young Guns, all the way through the finale of 24. The problem with this show is the glaring errors in plot realism from the opening moments of the show. If there were a massive bombing at the capital building, the two places they would take the designated survivor would be either on air force one circling the country, being refueled mid air, or if they took him back to the white house, they would put him and his family in the emergency elevator and take them multiple stories beneath the white house ground floor. The one thing they wouldn't do is leave him on the ground floor with the remaining military leadership. What a turd of a pilot. Im not trying to troll, just wanted to vent my voice on what could've been a good show start. Also, its obvious Keifer is having an affair with his one staffer that wants in.
