Please stop. You've got a lot of normal Marvel Comics Universe movies and shows from Disney without the edge.

What "variety" are you looking for? These Netflix shows are finally darker and giving us "variety"...they are different from the rest of the batch. No need to discourage them from making something different...given the raging popularity of daredevil etc the variety is very popular and many people love them! Let everyone else have and enjoy something different, even if you don't.

I was hoping for the Netflix shows to have a scale of intensity, from something similar to the movies and Agents of SHIELD to ultra-dark stuff like The Punisher...and presumably, Ghost Rider. But instead, it seems all of them are just dark for the sake of it, which I find disappointing.

Sometimes life can be bright and shiny. Other times, more often than we would like, this world is brutal and indifferent. Real life is darker than anything in any of those Netflix shows. Those shows don't celebrate the violence, they show the impact of the violence on the entire city. I think that is thought provoking and is worth watching and discussing.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Star Gabriel Luna Says It’s Ghost Rider Spin-Off Has Discussed

Quote:
We know Marvel has been considering more TV series, and we’ve already heard of some of them: The Punisher on Netflix, The Runaways on Hulu, Cloak and Dagger on Freeform, and Damage Control on ABC. There were plans awhile ago to also spin off the character of Mockingbird, but they continuously fell through. Might Ghost Rider prove to be the better source on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to expand with a separate series?

During an interview with ComicBook.com, actor Gabriel Luna, who portrays the Spirit of Vengeance on the small screen, confirmed there have been discussions of developing a Ghost Rider solo series — or even a movie of some kind. He said:

“It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.”

Luna remarked earlier in the discussion, “I don’t have a preference. People talk about, ’Ah man he’d be great as a feature,’ which is [an] idea, too…It could be in the cinema, it could live on Netflix, whatever it is.”

It was an unexpected choice for Marvel to include Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when the character’s darker leanings seem more aligned with the Defenders line-up on Netflix. Should the story of Robbie Reyes move over to the streaming platform, it’d make for a nice reminder that all these shows and movies are still connected. After everything we keep hearing about the not-so-shared shared universe, it’d be fun to see how Reyes fairs against the likes of Frank Castle and Matt Murdock.

Looking forward to this GR Netflix series. I've liked all of Netflix's Marvel shows (though I have yet to see Luke Cage), so I'm sure this will be great as well.

I hated the films, since Nic Cage was so miscast as Johnny Blaze/Ghost RIder. Being a mild fan of the GR comic back in the day, I hope they get someone to play Blaze who at least looks like the character from the comic - shouldn't be that tough to do.

Have you not watched Agent's of SHIELD he's in the show, and so far the reception has been really positive, I really liked his portrayal.

Though he would likely stay away from the other Netflix MCU character's since in this iteration he's based out of LA. And I kind of would like a setting outside of NYC.

Netflix's Ghost Rider is now Hulu's Ghost Rider.

Thank GOD Gabriel Luna will be returning from Agents of SHIELD as Ghost Rider he was great and so happy that Disney is making TV-MA MCU series which I am assuming Ghost Rider will be TV-MA or it just does not make sense for me.

Just to add someone should remove Netflix from the heading.

Also wonder after the contract with Netflix for the rest of MCU characters they still have for 2 more years will Disney reboot it? Sad they can not just keep the original cast terrible contract deal and we will never see this series come to 4K Blu-Ray.

Pretty surprised Luna's returning, and that's awesome they're keeping the continuity there for the character. I'm kinda mixed of them putting the show on Hulu though (just another service to sign up for this show). But it does line up with the rumors we've been hearing. Why not just give different rating sections for all their content on the Disney + service? Are they really worried about putting mature show's/movies that kids will find their way to it?

Hell yeah! I loved Luna in the role and I'm 1000% on board for this. I really hope we see Johnny Blaze as well.

Why do that when Disney owns most of Hulu and already have thousands of subscribers with Hulu and a lot of people don't want to pay for another streaming service also Netflix is not getting any cheaper so there is that.

Awesome. I'd much rather see Johnny Blaze or even Danny Ketch, but I'll take what I can get.

Setting it in the MCU kind of means it had to be Robbie Reyes, unless it was a prequel... Could have started with Blaze and kept going through the incarnations, plus didn't Robbie talk about how Johnny Blaze saved him in an episode? It's been a while since I saw season 4.

They said he was saved by a previous rider, which was strongly hinted to be Johnny, however it was never outright said it was Johnny, so it could have been another rider.

I don't see the problem with it begin a prequel though, just set it in like 2010.

There's no reason that they both couldn't exist at the same time. They did show another Ghost Rider in AOS that was probably Johnny Blaze. So there's definitely more than one anyway.

I remember reading there was a Quentin Carnival poster in AOS where the Darkhold was found. Suggesting Johnny Blaze in the MCU.

Would be interesting if we get prequels about all the different Ghost Riders such as Noble Kale from 18th century or Danny Ketch who is Johnny Blaze long lost brother or female Ghost Rider name Alejandra Jones.

But this all depends I guess with Disney if they are planning to do a actual TV-MA Anti-hero character, in Agents of SHIELD it was actually done decently and moving the time slot to 10 PM so they can push a notch in content.

I would love that. I hope they at least have cameos of some of the other Ghost Riders.
