I have two of the old Atlantics, when they were built well. I love them. I also have 8 of these Sauders, and would have bought many more if I had seen that $18 price! Sure, the shelves sometimes bow a little, but it hasn't been a problem for me. Whenever I need to expand (I alphabetize titles, which means I have to re-sort the shelf contents once or twice a year when I add a new shelving unit), I flip the shelves over, if I see they are bowing. Both sides of the shelves are finished, and they don't have notches for pegs, so they can be be flipped easily.

I bought that same Elite Media Tower as a birthday gift to myself in April.

God, I regret that decision, especially as I can't return/exchange it at Best Buy and it's breaking apart faster than the Titanic.

I honestly buy precut wood and make my own. It doesn't take much skill. The hardest parts are drilling holes for the pegs and cutting each shelf, but for the most part you don't have to measure anything.
