Really cant wait to hear everyone's impressions on the beta. I wont be able to play this week since I'm out of town. I remember really liking amped back in the day on the 360, have not played a snowboarding game I have enjoyed since really.

SSX was the shiat back on PS2 man ... that first game was so much fun and the music was awesome ....

I agree. SSX was the, how did you put it, Shiat! SSX Tricky was the definitive one though, IMO.

ok maybe i need to give it more chance but so far its pretty much just meh ...

it looks pretty and it def plays well ... but it doesnt seem to have much cohesion ...you start with doing the squirell suit down the mountain .... then hit hold the circle button to go to mountain view and choose a new location ... then you simply board down the hill ... no tricks or anything .. just boarding .... then you hit circle and go to mountain view .... rinse and repeat .... ill give it more time this weekend but im not expecting to have much interest in this when it drops

Don't forget, it's only a BETA. They could just be testing the servers and may add tricks later and do another BETA. With how much sh!t Ubisoft got for AC Syndicate they're more careful with their games now.

no there seem to be tricks .. as i was getting points doing things .. the game just didnt do any kind of tutorial about doing tricks as much as i played.. i did a downhill time race .. both on a board and a squirrel suit ... and then they have you take out your binoculars to scan the mountain for a new " spot" that you can then go to the mountain view and magically teleport too to start at ...
i guess i just dont like the " in between" aspect ... if i cant simply board down to the point .. id rather just quickly go in a basica menu and choose the location ...

it just feels needlessly time consuming how it is ... im sure many will like it .. as i said it looks great and the mountain terrain looks incredible ... im just thinking id rather have had a remake of one of the first two ssx games ...

Thanks for the info. Can you freely walk around before starting and after finishing each run down the mountains? Any lodges or anything that the player can enter?

I enjoyed it but it seems that it'll get boring quickly.

I will say that it was worth it just to put the Rocky training music on spotify while walking up the mountain.

My son has been playing this most of the morning and it's changed my mind to being a blast to play.

There is a bunch of different things to do with the challenges and it seems that Ubisoft have gotten the servers working because there's actually other people playing now that you can interact with.

Played the first course. It's 2AM now, and I'd like to continue, but...

It's beatiful, and I can't wait to see it in 4K HDR. I think it's the kind of game that you break it out every now an then just to take in the scenery. Driveclub is sort of that way. Unless the difficulty scales with advancement, it feels pretty forgiving, meaning chill out fun.

I could not launch it right away. Could not connect to the servers. So I think it's an always online game that you can't play offline, which is actually a big drag on any review I could possibly give it, all other things aside.

Always online, that's disappointing but thanks for the heads up warning. Why they isolate their games like this to online only I wonder, but probably having to do with wanting everyone to contribute to the online community to keep it going. Same thing with The Crew. Oh well.

It's actually pretty tough now that I'm through the tutorial material. Timing jumps and tricks will take some practice. It's hard to judge how close I am to the ground in the wingsuit, and the parachute requires hugging the mountainside. Randoms are in your game while you race, but it does not seem they can interfere. Maybe if you join games with them, you can get tied up.

It has a great photo mode. You can replay all of your runs from a few different angles and take action shots. If you really want to do something scary, try the races in first person. Holy crap!

I want someone with a VR to play this in first person and let us know what they think.

Played it for free a little over the weekend. I enjoyed it and said I would buy it for around 30. Just saw it on top for 30 so I bought it!

I loved the snowboarding although its nothing like SSX. Wing Suit was awesome! Parasailing I didn't get. I just floated very slowly and couldn't do anything,so i just landed and busted out the snowboard! Never did make it to skis.
