You need to go into the set up menu for Player settings, then Sound, then Settings for High Clarity Sound. There you can turn the front panel display off for video and/or audio playback.

@Carlos2992, disc loading is very fast. I have not timed it against Samsung's, but they are both fast loading.

@Mezzanine, we had to return 4 of my 5 loaner DMP-UB900s so I can't tell you how to shut off the LED front panel display until I get home tonight.

Almost same Phillips UHD player have best picture quality and only HDMI two outputs audio, picture.

Panasonic UHD player is a pricey
if you mind with use on analog stereo,7.1 multichannels are good quality. But no SACD,no DVD-audio.

I use only HDMI. Think about it.

Philips have HDR converted and Setting Luminance / Colour adjustment thing.

There is a new and cheaper version of this panasonic player being released in Japan and is now rumored to also making an appearance at IFA in Germany in September. So the cheaper version may make it to the USA also.

At this time Panasonic has no plans on bringing in the lower end 4K BD player for the USA market.

Regarding US availability of the DMP-UB900 4K BD player; September 2nd for Best Buy, and if all goes as planned we'll receive our first allocation the week of August 29th.

Remember
Original Panasonic UHD player not have SACD and DVD-Audio.

Panasonic is now shipping our 1st allocation of DMP-UB900 4K BD players!

We'll be double boxing and preparing to ship out by the end of next week, w/o 8/22.

Yes, the UB900 has Tos link digital optical and digital coax as well as HDMI audio and analog 2 and 7 channel over RCA.
