I really enjoyed the 1st film not sure if I should buy this one though. Not in a rush of owning but I would like too at some point. Got it price locked at $21.98 for the 4K at Amazon. Doubt it will get any cheaper than that especially for 4K title. Just trying to be very selective of purchasing movies especially when movies will get cheaper because of the holidays and BF.

I just watched the first movie over the weekend because I haven't seen it since the initial release. It's utterly ridiculous, but has great cinematography and some fun moments -- pure popcorn. I picked it up on Black Friday for $10 back in 2013. I think I can wait for this one to do the same.

I pre-ordered the Target exclusive of this a few days ago, then this morning I received a notification that it was back ordered, and that it would arrive between September 21st and October 9th; isn't that a little odd for a pre-order?

Thanks for the info I'm definitely getting my copy at Target now, with my Target red cards 5% and the cartwheels extra 15% that is a nice little savings.

Not as good as the first one but watchable. Certainly not as bad as Taken 2.
Big fan of Lizzy Caplan so it gets a few extra points for her casting [although I like Isla Fisher too, wonder why she didn't want to do the sequel or possibly work conflict] |

On a separate note, is anyone able to confirm if this disc is region-locked, please? |

I picked up a copy of the Target version and a copy at Red Box on release day. The next day, both went back.
Bummer, I really like the first one for some reason, but 2 was just painful to even get through. At least I did get through it through, shit like Allegiant and 5th Wave have me in a new state of movie watching; stopping and getting out early when it's obviously not for me. I used to sit through anything at least once, no more! These shit films also now save me the trouble of thinking the next will be better, Twilight taught me that's a fool thing to think, and if one sucks, they all will. So no more Divergent or any Waves for me! I'm free! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Just out of pure impulse, I finally sat down to watch the first movie, which I absolutely loved. It's a great popcorn movie. But, this sequel? I had more fun having my teeth pulled than in this sequel. I expected more of the same magical stunts in the sequel, as there were in the first one, but they were totally lacking in this sequel. That was the awesome part of the first film was the extraordinary special effects and the magic scenes. They blew me away and my brother loved that film.
The sequel seemed to fall flat on its face. Even the portrayal of the characters seemed to be flat. It was like the producers and directors went an entirely different route with the sequel and that they forgot what made the first movie so popular among movie fans. I'm hoping they go back to basics with the third movie, which is supposed to see the return of Isla Fisher and the return of the magic effects. The spectacle of the first film will remain one of my favorites, the second film? Not so much. |

Fans of this movie will want to purchase it instead of renting it. A family member that I know rented this movie on Blu-ray from Netflix. The rental version is on a single layer Blu-ray disc with 21.5GB used out of 25GB. Also the rental version contains only the trailers for bonus features, compared to the retail Blu-ray version with bonus items like audio commentary track, etc. The worse thing about the rental version is that Lionsgate removed the 11.1 Dolby ATMOS soundtrack and with no 7.1 Dolby TrueHD lossless core soundtrack. Instead consumers get a lossy 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack (640kbps).

Also, a single layer disc does not have a 50GB capacity, so saying the disc content takes up 21.5GB out of 50GB is incorrect and misleading. But again, this isn't new information here... |

Thanks, that was a typo. Sometimes when one types things fast slight mistakes can be made. I met to say 21.5GB of space is used out of 25GB on the single layer rental version, versus the retail version is a dual layer BD-50 disc. Also for major releases like you mentioned, its common for Lionsgate to reduce the audio quality to lossy sound quality for rentals since fans of the movie are more likely to purchase it instead of renting it. |
