Reviews are coming in and they're looking good!

No one's mentioned the 3D experience yet though.

Is Seeing 'Wonder Woman' In 3D Worth It? The Warrior's Return Comes With Plenty Of Big Action Scenes

3D ticket sales alone might not be the send Wonder Woman to the top of the box office, but it will help send a message to studios that audiences are willing to pay to see Wonder Woman fight men in 3D.

Wonder Woman deserves to be seen — period — whether in 3D or 2D. 3D will just be a little bit more fun.

^ Seems to be more concerned with pushing an agenda involving having more female leads in action films tbh. A complete fluff piece with little to no valuable information.

The amount of depth of course also doesn't increase with more colour. See any black and white films with great 3d, it may seem to pop more, but that doesn't change the amount of depth we are perceiving and such perception is also present in 2d (so I fail to see how it adds more to 3d). BvS had no issue with it's 3d because of its colour use and in no way does this films trailer suggest it will compete in the 3d department with it (seemingly being a far, far more conservative conversion, though still looking good).

I hope the film and 3d are great. Just don't expect pure brilliance, as whilst the 3d trailer suggests it has taken 3d into account during filming, it hasn't pushed the 3d to strong or even high medium levels.

Thanks. I'm surprised the 3D in the Wonder Woman trailers' action scenes isn't on par with Batman vs Superman's 3D action scenes, but I'll keep an open mind and see how the 3D turns out this weekend. I agree, mostly medium 3D from the trailer I've seen a few times. I'll definitely see this one as a fan of the DC Comics' Super Friends, Justice League shows.

I think this generation of 3D has been pretty unimpressive on the whole. The best examples of depth and pop out have been older films for me. ICFOS, House Of Wax, The Bubble etc..
This gen has had a handful of standouts (Avatar, Gravity, Life Of PI) but for the most part they have played it wasaaay too safe. The depth on some of the older films put recent efforts to shame.

As for Wonder Woman, I expect it to be the same as Suicide Squqd and BVS, in other words, pretty average fare 3D wise. The film itself looks good though.

If there were expanded aspect ration scenes, I think we would have heard something.

Would like if there is, as I've enjoyed the Imax offerings this year.

I've got my tickets for Friday morning in XD 3D and will give my feedback soon after.
Haven't heard really anything about its 3D , nor have I seen a 3D trailer for it. So I'm going in blindly.

Just got out of an IMAX 3D screening. The movie was pretty good, a bit long, but thankfully it is better than the previous DCEU films.

My opinion on the 3D is: Meh.

Starts off decent with some pop outs courtesy of arrows, but after that not much in terms of pop outs or depth. You get some decent shots with the slow motion scenes but that's about it. Pretty average here. Definitely had potential to be great.

Hopefully, Transformers and Spider-Man, possible along with Cars, Despicable Me and Valerian, can finish off the season with some good 3D.

I have faith in Transformers since it's native and a bit of converted. Valerian has to be pristine in the format.

Well Guardians vol 2 is absolutely fantastic 3D in the way of pop outs and depth just as good as vol 1 if not a bit better sometimes. More Movies in 3D like this.
This does not sound like we will quite get there with this movie. Still seeing it in 3D to judge by myself.

Guardians Vol 2 and the Nwave films are exceptions to the rule as far as western films go.

China is one of the few markets still making strong native 3-D films.

Hopefully Ridley Scott eventually gets back to filming in 3D with Scorsese too as well as Paul WS Anderson, Ang Lee, etc. So currently Mission Impossible 6 is being filmed in 3D at this time. Transformers Last Knight will hopefully go for strong 3D in every shot instead of filming it mild and then amping it up during the action as several films did that are filmed in 3D, like Amazing Spider-Man 1 3D.

Thanks Breakspear. So it sounds more like the 3D from the trailer then, which looks like mostly medium layered 3D, nothing amazing. I'll keep an open mind on it, but it's too bad if it doesn't match the 3D of Batman v Superman. At least it's hopefully better than Man of Steel's mostly mild 3D.

Looks like pre-orders for regular blu ray and 4K version are already up at BestBuy and Amazon, but no sign of a 3D package. I am going to be extremely disappointed if they don't release this on 3D blu ray in the US.

I noticed that. I'm super salty AF (very upset). If they don't release a 3D version I'll accept the fact the 3D blu ray will die and no longer add to my collection. PLEASE, Pretty please with sugar on top..do not let this be the case.

I'm not saying this is the case, but Kong 3D and Lego Batman 3D took a while to show up for preorder. Funny that King Arthur already has a preorder though ...

EDIT: Of course, after I post this, now King 3D has disappeared off of Websites.

China and Hong Kong have their fair share of middling conversions too although many of them don't make it to Blu-ray 3D. It's a shame that the international market for disc media isn't larger. South Korea had a couple native 3D films last year that I would love to see, The Bacchus Lady and Elephant in the Room. Poland had a low-budget one called Tenderness that at least has a 3D trailer online and got a playdate in LA.

2017 is a down year for native 3D in Hollywood, but thanks to Michael Bay for carrying the flag. 2018 should at least bring Alita: Battle Angel and M:I 6, which will hopefully provide adequate interaxials. Because of the increased quality of conversions, the post-Avatar native 3D boom is over, and only filmmakers truly interested in stereography are going to continue the art.

Just got done watching this in RealD 3D.
It was mostly medium 3D throughout. With the action scenes bumping it up a bit. This movie was all about depth, no pop-outs that I can really recall. Just as I thought I might get an arrow or bullet coming at me it didn't happen. They came close a few times but no cigar.
There was a fair amount of crosstalk in the background in some scenes Three off the top of my head are when Diana is trying on clothes, Pine and Diana going into a council meeting and Diana sitting around a campfire.

One of my favorite 3D segments involved a bullet being fired and followed when Wonder Woman is crossing no man's land. That whole scene was done really well.
Although this movie seemed to be going for depth they really could have pushed it back more. The island scenes especially. There's a few scenes that were non action that were good, I enjoyed a boat segment scene as they are heading to London and eventually arrive.
The one area I was craving for some fantastic 3D was when Wonder Woman uses her lasso, unfortunately I didn't get it.
The 3D was good but definitely not great.

The movie on the other hand I really enjoyed. Gadot is fantastic as Wonder Woman , she embraces this role with bravery, sympathy and even naivety.
This isn't a dark film like previous DC films, meaning there's actually color in it. It's a lighter story than BVS and has some really good humor.
They wisely place the male characters around her as brave men who aren't idiots. This isn't a movie that is pushing a agenda of women are better than men.
The chemistry between Gadot and Pine is fantastic, you can feel this relationship between the two progress as the movie goes along. They both have each other's back.
Action set pieces are solid, the direction is great and the score is magnificent.
My only small complaint is the villains , not too much to them. I also felt the final fight scene was a bit of a letdown. It became way to cgi heavy , but all things considered it was still good.
I can't wait to see this again, I'm going to grab tickets this weekend to take my wife and daughter.
My scores
3D : 3/5
Movie : 4/5

HMV UK will have an exclusive steelbook with the 3D and 2D blu-ray discs included.

I'm sure Best Buy will have this also, but probably only 4K and 2D blu-ray.

The HMV UK group buy is being hosted by the always-reliable cudzndrips.
