I maintain that I was p1ssed at the time and use it as an excuse for not remembering.

Anyone have any news if the bonus feature films included are in HD or not?

If they're all going on the same disc, I doubt it. The Stuntmen is about 50 mins long and the others around 90, so a SD transfer of each could come in around 5GB, plus the main feature and the other extras... It's doable on a BD50 but it still sounds absolutely crammed to me.

When identical zombie twin brothers are unable to remember the 70's karaoke song they sang 2 years ago in a charity shop on their birthday, as discussed in no less than a Man From Hong Kong public movie forum thread, you know we're all in deep, deep trouble...

Would I like super sexy blu rays of all those movies? Absolutely. Will I be content with Stunt Freakin' Rock in just DVD quality? You betcha!

I'm in the US and thinking about buying this (I love Trenchard-Smith) - what is Umbrella's reputation with video and audio quality? This release is stacked and the extra features look amazing, but I don't want to dive in just yet.

They are ok. Their last few releases have been acceptable. It's a small label so don't expect Arrow quality. I will certainly be getting this set, it's the best one I've seen from Umbrella. If you got some reading free time check this forum -

JB must be wrong (or diabolikdvd is screwy) but diabolik shows the disc as available now. Has anyone gotten this yet? Mine is in a preorder with the Waxwork Vestron disc, so it'll still be a week or so before mine heads out.

Ah, you're right - I was looking at the wrong thing.

So I emailed them, see if they had an update. Here's what they said:

"It is due out later this month but then has to travel to me from Australia, so even
if it is released on time, I probably won't have it until Nov"

Just a heads up - saw the approved testing copy in the office on Thursday, so the wheels are in motion.

Dead keen to sit down and watch it once I get my own copy.

Cheers

The official release date from Umbrella was 26/10. JB's not carrying it in stores, just online, and ordering in-store. Bit of poor form from JB, imho.

There wasn't many pre-orders for this company wide. A group order was made for their stores late last week. Many of their stores should be getting a few copies each soon. Though this has nothing to do with why the title is late, it's a distributor issue.
