I'm 38 and this is still in my top 4 movies of all time. I will have to own both the digibook and the steelbook. Damn Labyrinth obsession

See, I had never seen The Neverending Story in its entirety until right around the same time I watched The Dark Crystal last year. That was another one that I was mildly creeped out with and didn't enjoy. I can see why my mom never let me watch either as a child.

Since we are on this 80s fantasy kick, I will confess something: I don't understand the hype for The Princess Bride. When I saw Stardust during my vacation to Florida with my family in 2007, I absolutely loved it. It got ripped apart by some for being "a poor man's Princess Bride" and because of the comparison, I finally sat down and watched TPB shortly after seeing Stardust. I thought it was ridiculous and boring. I know that film is high on most fantasy lists, but I much prefer Stardust. Please don't hate me.

I was going to stick with my Amazon pre-order since that dipped to $19.20 at one point but that's a sweet steelbook. I'm going to go with that one.

If you're a reader, I highly recommend that you forget the movie version of The Neverending Story and check out the book instead. It's just a fantastic, amazing book. The movie only looked at the first half of the book, and didn't do a great job.

As for The Princess Bride, I watched it many, many times in my youth (including in the theater for the original release, when nobody really thought much about it). Watching it again recently with my kids, I agree that the comedy definitely moves too slowly, and Mark Knopfler's musical score hasn't aged well at all. The movie works best when you watch it with friends you can quote it with afterward. However, there's such a nostalgia factor attached to it, that if you don't already love it, you probably won't start now.

As for Stardust, I started watching it on a plane once and didn't get very far. I just didn't get it. I know I'm making myself an outcast from the land of coolness by saying this, but I've yet to enjoy anything--book, graphic novel, or movie--by Neil Gaiman.

Yeah they sure are making it tough...i have the MONDO steely, but bought the Labyrinth digibook because i needed the new discs and when it arrives, it's going to pain me to put it in the archives (the digibook that is) because my OCD will only allow me to display one or the other....but dammit this steelbook is very nice too.

No, but I'm guessing it is most likely similar to the UK 4K SteelBook release.

Same here and it is cheaper. Prefer the digibook to the steelbook.

I was mildly hoping that they might surprise us with some different cover art that's amazing--but the poster art makes sense and is (in my opinion) much better than the Mondo.

And...is this a white steelbook that's actually white? Looks good!

Crud, I completely forgot about this one. I'll try my luck with store pickup. If I can't, then it's not meant to be. I have it in my iTunes, anyway.

I am going digibook for this release as well. I think it looks nicer, especially with the pages.
